    For a combined 1 - 14 - 2 record ATS in football this week.

By far the worst weekend in my handicapping life.

How are you supposed to bounce back from this?

No-one can be so "bad" that they post a 1 - 14 - 2 for the weekend. Even if you were on the side of the statistically worse sides then, on average, you wouldn't end up with that record - if you've been doing reasonably well throughout the season then it is most likely due to variance. Why no go through your picks and see if you would pick them any different?

Next week zone in on a very small number of games, bypass the ones where you find enough value to bet but not enough to consider a solid ass pick. After a week like this even picking only two games will help tremendously in building some confidence back up. Getting into a good rhythm is as important for cappers as it is for players, don't over extend and try to win it all back this week.

did you play every single game in the nfl? how could you have strong opinion on all those games on sunday? or (my guess) were you chasing a bad saturday?

Inclined to agree with LV here. Limit the number of games to your top two or three. No one can have a strong opinion on every game on the NFL slate.

And if you're not sure who to bet on, just tag Pags...he's on fire right now.

1-14 not hard to do, I have went on bad runs like that many times. I guess take a break or bet smaller until you come out of it. Also you can bet like a 4 team reverse and that will get you out of the hole and plus money for you.

I agree with Tacomax....................you are certainly not that bad.
I started out 2-10 in the pros and am finally back close to even after this week if I can catch a NYG win tonite.
Just keep practicing good money management, if you have a system in place. (which you should). Hopefully your bankroll will let you continue at your current wager amount.
There's nothing you can do about it except keep plugging away, trying to make solid picks and not trying to get it all back at once.
It's just the way they bounced for you, nothing more......nothing less. Next week could be 12-2 just as easily.

GL, I know where you are, having been there myself.

Great post with tremendous advice. Just take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Take a day or two off if you feel the need to win everything back at once, and start anew. It's human nature to want to see your bankroll increase every day, but that's not how the game works. Even professional handicappers are not at the pinnacle of their bankrolls as much as one might think. GL mate...

You might not want to lose your sense of humor right now either. Several months from now you'll probably be laughing about the weekend you went 1-14-2. When I was like 21 or so I had made about $7500 one season betting basketball with my stereotypical Italian bookie (who I met through my late grandmother of all people lol). I had grinded it out and was so proud. One night towards the end of the season I called him and placed fifteen $500 wagers, and proceeded to go 3-12 (I can still remember that record vividly). I went from $7500 to $750 in one night after the vig, and remember taking all that money out and paying him. God that was depressing then, but you live and learn
