We all know Vegas does their homework when it comes to putting out lines, but do you ever wonder sometimes if they can just put out any (reasonable) line they want and still get balanced action?
The theory here is that EX: the books can give you Yankees +102 at home against the Indians (seemingly strange line), and at first everyone would take Yanks, but there will always be people popping up afterwards finding 'hidden' reasons why the line is either a trap or that Vegas knows something, and will take Indians. By the end of the day the action would be almost even. I have the feeling the books can put out any line they want and get balanced action according to this theory.
