As you all know I'm from Montreal, but I've never ever been a Habs fan in my life. Tonight after winning big with them, I've turned into a fan, (as long as they keep winning me money). Montreal became the first team to ever come back from a 3-1 series deficit to win the series as an 8th seed.
I was on the bus on my way home tonight at 10PM and had NO IDEA what the score was. I thought there was no way of finding out until I got home, but as soon as the bus turned onto a semi-busy street, there are cars honking, shirtless people yelling and jumping around, that feeling of community. And I knew I won my bet, it was such a good feeling, I finally felt like part of my city. I never care if they win, but this time I was on the people's side. I finally know what it feels like to be a fan, and as much as I know being a fan is completely irrational, I like the feeling.
