We took half of this country from Mexico. We bought alot of it from France, but the people there already spoke English for the most part. Of course Louisiana has a large French speaking population though.

Because 30% of the population here in the US speaks spanish. If they spoke other languages they should have more options. If you go to Austria they have German, French and Italian depending on which part of the country you are. It's how people communicate that matters.

A little tip, if you press "1" for english, they will transfer you to some dude in India who barely speaks english and lies to you by saying his name is Mike. If you select "2", you will most likely get a person who speaks both spanish and english well enough

Some people don't realize that the small businesses do not have customer service in all of Latin America speaking countries. So when someone from Argentina, Colombia or Panama calls the 1-800-NUMBER the company needs to give them the option to speak in Spanish if they want their business. It's not all about people in the US who speak Spanish.
