The Best Playoff Bet in Professional Sports

this of course does not apply to the nfl, but...

ALWAYS take the moneyline for a team that is facing elimination on their home court in a playoff series (does not apply if either team wins the series if they win that particular game.)

if this is the only wager you make during playoff season, you'll make more money than most.

this is meant to be advice for newbies, i know many in here already take this bet.

this is my input for the think tank, take it for what it is worth.

just this year, the buffalo sabres and miami heat come to mind. last nights mavs/spurs game also fits the bill. only loss, the new jersey devils in game 5. and we're not even through the first round.

the second best bet in the playoffs... NEVER play game 1.

it's a winner every season. regardless of what FWS says, this play is money.

there is also something to be said for favorites who lost at home during game 1, they almost always cover at home in game 2.
