Ravens say racism is embedded in Americas foundation
Amidst a flurry of professional sports teams postponing games after the shooting of Jacob Blake, the Baltimore Ravens have released a statement saying that racism “is embedded in the fabric of our nation’s foundation,” and we must unite in order to combat it.

The statement also calls for the country to “accept accountability and acknowledge the ramifications of slavery and injustice,” and suggests several steps the nation can take to enact justice, including calling on the public to demand that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) bring House-passed policing legislation to a vote in the Senate.

    great

I think we can all agree that there are no better entities, than professional sports athletes to guide us in complex discussions like this, and to suggest next steps to take politically.

From a team named after a poem written by an alcoholic who at 35 married his 12 year old cousin.

      Change the name Baltimore...

Another example of overpaid athletes that have no understanding of the real world.

Let's be honest. If it where not for pro football. Most pro football players would be pushing a broom somewhere for minimum wage.

Of course they did. Of course they said that...

Now ask them to expound on the notion of foundational racism and how it's had a negative impact on their lives and be prepared for a room full of blank stares from outer space.

That's totally false. The problem is they're fighting the last civil rights war using the same tactics. 60 years you could point to actual laws on the books designed to hold blacks back, and they're the most obvious ethnic group to get ahead in America through protest. The problem is that they're not looking at their behavior and the NEA keeping them in horrible schools and a horrible school system as their main problems, they're just protesting phantom laws that are supposedly holding them back.

The country was founded by slave owners who fought a war to keep slavery alive and well and still have grunges for not allowed to have free labor.

maybe some of their Vets like Ray Rice and Ray Lewis and the dozens of other "victims" of oppression by the criminal justice system can come help the current Ravens lead us into thoughtful discourse on justice

You clearly don't understand how the world works. The majority of the people of the world are slaves/peasants/workers. It's been that way throughout all of human history. Slaves and servants are directed from a young age to work for their country or kingdom which is run by a president in the current age and run by a King in most cases(sometimes Queen) in the past. The difference between today's model of presidents and the past model of Kings is that presidents are elected by the people which is wrong whereas in the past Kings came from the direction of GOD such as in King David's case when he became King of Israel and Judah

                            What model do you propose?
