There are many great handicappers on this site and we (SBR members) should be able to take advantage of this. We are all in the game to have fun and win money but the current system for the contests does the help at all. I've notice over the past year that many of the long haul contests (2 weeks or longer), where a few cappers get extremely hot however nobody can take advantage of it because their plays are not available until after the games are started. There should be atleast a 15 minutes cutoff time before the games to be played so we can get on those Hot cappers plays and make money too. I was reading on the forum that the "Service Plays" threads were taking over with more trafic and this proves that cappers are looking for help when they are having a bad run on their own. I would much rather take a chance with a hot contest cappers pick with the record being documented, than any of those Service picks. I was thinking that was part of the reason that these contests were generated. Atleast give it a thought

if you could see the others' plays in the handicappers contests then anyone in 1st place could just wait and shadow 2nd place's picks.
and vice versa anyone in 2nd could wait and go the other way to make up double.

so while it might sound like a good idea, it would be a grossly unfair way to run a contest.

Not if the plays are not available 15 minutes before the start of the game. I don't think you understand what i'm saying. The cutoff time for the games is 15 minutes before the start of the game and those 15 minutes allow the members to view the picks but can't do anything to play those games in a contest. Basically the games are taken off the Board for the contest 15 minutes before the start of each game.

Good idea but this is not how the site makes money. The site makes money when posters lose their bankrolls. Haven't you learned anything yet?

I'll get to the rest of the ideas, excellent posts.

The problem with publishing the picks is guys who get behind will simply pick the opposite in an attempt to get back in it. I guess they could be cut off like an hour early and publish all the picks?

SBR is one of the highest monthly money makers cause everyone here that loses they get a percentage off of them. I'm talking 6 figures a month EVERY MONTH. They don't want you to win money!
If it seems to good to be true it usually is!!

I have a natural instinct to exploit market ineffieciencies!!

It would suck for the guy in the contest that gets home 5 minutes before game time and tries to make his pick, only to be shut out already because people want to see his picks!

Maybe you should just ask the poster for his picks. If he knows that you are not trying to screw him over, he might be more than happy to share his pick.

If it were me, I would share. I would only stop if I thought someone was up to no good.

The success of that forum is quite simple.

                          1. People are lazy.
                          2. People are cheap.
                          3. People like to blame someone other than themselves when they lose.

....I wouldn't dare ask a guy for picks in general. A guy who is hot in a contest is more likely to play games that he really truly likes than he would if you put pressure on him to give you picks. His winning streaks will only last for so long. LOL..in most cases, the guys who win the contest money is out in less than 1 week with his real money plays. A contest player and a real money player are 2 different species..and most guys who have been around know what i'm talking about. For the record, I did say for the long Haul contests. I wouldn't take the cappers picks who are at the top in the last few weeks of a contests anyways. Only the guys who are charging from the pack. So in that case they can keep the plays open for all until the last 7-10 days of a contest and then close it for the public view.
                              Example
A contest with 100 plays needed can stay open for view up until 80 plays have been made and then it's not available after that for the members.
