I thought we are talking about physical gifts. Track measures physical gifts a lot more than leading the NFL in rushing. Not who is the best all around sports star.

Also Lebron I am sure has better nutrition and training than Chamberlain, so if you are talking about "gifts" is Chamberlain definitely.

With a combination of his size, skill, and strength. I'd say probably.

All around sports star I take Jim Brown. Was the all time leading score in New York state history HS in basketball. Best player in NFL history when he retired, and best lacrosse player.

If Lebron wins the decathlon in the Olympics he is the best athlete. So far he has won nothing in the NBA and the first time he got close he got swept. We saw him last year under pressure where Howard owned him.

                Jason Heyward.

Okay not quite, yeah I'd agree that Bron-Bron is one of the most, if not the most gifted athlete in pro sports history.

Earl Boykins is a sick athlete. Obviously not the most physically gifted, but the dude can bench 350.

Muggsy Bogues was a much better athlete than Boykins. Not sure what his bench was exactly but Muggsy went to school on a weight lifting scholarship, and could dunk.

Barry was doomed, due to his height
Due to his height.......he could jump flat footed into the back of a pick-up truck without lowering the tailgate

beyond that.....what other sports might he hold a record in?
he played for a shitty team.....put him on a team with an average passing game so defenses cant key on him and he smashes records

Kobe can jump over a speeding aston martin coming straight at him. This was confirmed in a nike commercial. Which was definitely real.

Jim Brown forced a rule change in lacrosse when he was in high school because you used to be allowed to cover the ball with your thumb. He would do that and just run through everyone.

I'd also put Pippen or Karl Malone in their primes into the discussion, but Lebron is easily the most gifted athlete ever.
Pippen.....ah did you mean Jordan.....Pippen was average at best without jordan

He also dunked still from under the basket in a dunking contest without running.

Barry could grab a quarter off the top of the field goal post and leave .15 cents change......

Walter Payton. Possessed the skill, size, speed, and talent of any of the previously mentioned players PLUS he did it every Sunday on BAD TEAMS, I mean BAD Bears teams for 10 years...could throw, catch, and run, one of the best (if not THE best) stiff arms in NFL history. Guy never gave up on a play.

It's hard to think of an athlete from any sport who possesses his combination of size, power, speed and coordination.
Bo Jackson is a name that comes to mind, but even he wasn't as gifted as Lebron.
