I thought we are talking about physical gifts. Track measures physical gifts a lot more than leading the NFL in rushing. Not who is the best all around sports star.

All around sports star I take Jim Brown. Was the all time leading score in New York state history HS in basketball. Best player in NFL history when he retired, and best lacrosse player.

You need to do more than run really fast to be considered the most physically gifted athlete in the history of pro sports, especially when track & field isn't even recognized as a true sport on the level of baseball and football. I'd say LeBron and Bo Jackson are the two greatest all-around athletes we've seen.

I would say the only guys would could compare might be Bo Jackson or Jim Brown, but I never got to see either play really.

Jim Brown forced a rule change in lacrosse when he was in high school because you used to be allowed to cover the ball with your thumb. He would do that and just run through everyone.

I'd also put Pippen or Karl Malone in their primes into the discussion, but Lebron is easily the most gifted athlete ever.

Possessed the skill, size, speed, and talent of any of the previously mentioned players PLUS he did it every Sunday on BAD TEAMS, I mean BAD Bears teams for 10 years...could throw, catch, and run, one of the best (if not THE best) stiff arms in NFL history. Guy never gave up on a play.
