I'm in the inland empire and I felt it. A few seconds with some shaking. Last year's quakes were much stronger.

I didn't feel shit here in Santa Monica.. I don't like Earthquakes and they usually come in the middle of the night.. Rude awakenings...
I got a massive fish tank in my house now that could fall over also.. That scares me..
I remember the Northridge California earthquake years ago and I was basically on the fault line at that time.. I could not stand up it was ROCKING!!!.. It was that violent. I thought it was the end of the world and game over..
The worst was it went PITCH BLACK.. No electricity no lighting at all. I smelt gas also and heard people screaming in fear. All car alarms were going off. It was black out and shaking violently.. I just remained on my bed and road it out...

Mikey that Northridge earthquake was INSANE!!!
Just everything crashing and falling in my apartment at the time. It was a disaster zone when finished.. Then you had a few after shocks that rattled your nerves.. Just about every building on my block was red tagged.. Had chimneys fall over.. Gas leaks every where and busted water lines..
It was ugly back then.. I was right there... I didn't have any apartment buildings on my block at the time collapse but it was SO VIOLENT.. 3 story building next to me was red tagged.. Every one had to get out.. Bounced off it's foundation and the bottom first floor was cracking and crumbling from the inside out..
I felt bad for my neighbors that had to get out of Dodge ASAP.. I knew a bunch of them.. Never heard or saw them again.. They all moved on..

4.9 is like jumping out of bed. 1989 in San Francisco was a crazy one. Saw the streets starting to wave.

Thanks bud, I'm good, I learned my lesson and REALLY retrofitted my house today so it's bolted down. 3/4 inch ply wood up to the second floor around the house under the stucco. Got it all strapped down..
Just my fish tank I don't want to fall over and flood out my house.. That's my biggest concern in the big one.. I'll be fine..
LA would be in ruins though in a quake greater then 7.0 that probably is coming at some point.. We have fault lines here that could give again.

The Northridge quake dramatically altered my life. I was working as a lab technician in Valencia while commuting from Orange county. As part of the safety committee I had the unique duty of being part of the clean up. Some rooms were totally trashed, broken glass everywhere, chemical spills, drywall cracked from ceiling to floor .Other areas appeared as if nothing happened. In the storage area pallets once neatly stacked were a pile of rubble. The corporate side of the building was deemed unsafe. It took six months to repair. I was assigned to work in the desert. Boron California for six months. The company provide lodging in Palmdale during the period. I made a lateral career move two years later with less of a commute.
The building is now a Kaiser hospital.

Even if there were deaths, they would be categorized as coronavirus deaths...the dems keep cheering for the numbers to keep rising.
