Horse Bet Rule- Need help with this one
I made a bet on that Eskenderya or Looking at Lucky will win the 2010 Kentucky Derby.

    I bet Yes +105

I just found out that Eskenderya has been scratched.
What will happen to my bet? will it get graded as no action or will it stand?
I realize that these are futures and fall under All In betting/ Fixed oddswagering category.

keep in mind that there was the option to Bet No

    what would happen then ?

    any thoughts?

Usually, when 1-2 specific entrants are named, the scratching of those will make the wager no action.

I'd look at the rules of the book, and write them before the event if you cannot find a rule on point.

      and Eskenderya will not win

Horrible odds +105 on the yes. Why did you make this bet to begin with. You could have bet both horses the day of the race and have gotten better odds.

Exactly, so why not place this bet the morning of the the race and wait to see if either scratched out? You wouldnt have gotten worse than +105 if you waited.

The books did you a favor here as stated before +105 was a terrible bet on 2 horses who would have gone off +200 or better each. Not to mention you have no idea on what the final size of the field is going to be.

i realize that but i would have to risk the bet twice, this way i only risk it once, Does that not count for anything ?

I would have liked to have action on the NO !!!

                      Which book had these odds?

Yes if your bankroll is down to 2 or 3 units. And if thats the case, betting horses at even money

you get the 2 top horses in the field at +105 versus the field at -125.

whats so wrong with this bet? The greek had this wager. The line never moved at all opened -125 and stayed there for a week. So its not as easy as it sounds. Doesnt matter now, bet has been cancelled.

Your bet was at even money, if each horse went of at 2-1 you could bet each horse for half of your +105 play and got the same bet. More importantly with 12-15 horses in the field, all top contenders, I would highly doubt that either horse would go off below 2-1 most likely they will go off higher than that. Therefore you would have got better value splitting your bet on each horse.

Obviously, I was just stating why this was not a good bet in the first place
