    NFL Draft: Day One Nonsense
    Broncos drafting Tim Tebow

This aint a Tebow Love or Hate thread, just don't like the Broncos taking him...This team is starting to remind me of the Bucs with all their quarterbacks. Bad dynamic for the team and these three(Quinn, Orton and Tebow). I think it is healthiest when their is a definitive pecking order.

    Too Much Gruden

And too much positivity...Everybody's pick was great. I like it better when it is Mel Kiper's show. After a pick, go to Kiper because he's the one who knows more about these guys. I like it when Mel goes off on a team for reaching. I usually like Gruden too, but it was overkill.

    Roger Goodell

Acting like Papa Goodell with hugs and trying to be everyone's best friend. I think he's going for the "You don't want to disappoint Dad" approach to get his players to behave. Also, you can tell he was a little extra excited because it was his idea to move the draft to prime time.

    Jimmy Clausen

Teams couldn't see that his receivers were never open and he had to put it right on the money to even have a chance, most of the time. Granted he threw jump balls too, and Golden Tate made him look good. But other QB's are throwing to wide open guys all day long...Jimmy was not. The Niners have been given a gift that he fell to day two. Now they need to go out and get him. He's the perfect fit for needling the ball into slow, great hands Michael Crabtree and bombing the ball to Ted Ginn.

    Great Advice Charlie Weiss, BTW.

    Not Nonsense

I always love how the Colts, Eagles, Patriots and Ravens draft.

Not too much. I always enjoy it still. Great to have when you are working out or cleaning up the house, but not everyone's cup of tea.

Mel Kiper is a fuking idiot. When has he been right about any of his picks. That clown couldn't ever sniff being an NFL scout. I trust Gruden and Tony Dungy's opinions on Tebow over stupid asshat Kiper or McShay. Mel must have worked for Claussen as much ass kissing he did for him. Yeah #1 pick. Screw you Kiper.

I'm going to ask you the same question I've asked others. Outside of this years SECCG against Bama. When wasn't Tebow the best player on the field in any game? He was easily the best player over Sam Bradford in the title game, Matt Stafford, Jamarcus Russell, Jevan Snead, etc...

Bradford and McCoy both looked horrible against top defenses... Riddle me that.

I actually like Tebow and want him to do well...I like all these top QB's for different reasons and want them all to do well. I also want them to be matched up, or put into situations where they have the best opportunity to flourish...
So much of a young QB's success is dependent on system, grooming, compatible receivers/teammates and overall surrounding Offnesive talent.

In my mind, Tebow would have been a great fit with the Vikings where he is not asked to do too much, but can still very much win them ball games in the fourth quarter, or the Raiders where they are truly hungry for an Offensive Leader. Again I like Tebow, but his John Wayne Antics(and I say that in the nicest of ways) won't fly when you have two other quarterbacks who are fighting for the job, and feel they deserve it.

Ad Mel Kiper is the right man for the job...The other guys give you generalities that we already know about(The average fan is very knowledgeable these days). We all know Dez Bryant gives Romo another weapon. We all know that the Colts like to Rush the passer when ahead and speed rusher Jerry Hughes fits into that nicely. Kiper talks fast and gives us a lot info that we might not otherwise have known....His speed, his strength, his feet. Why some teams were high on him, why some teams were not. Was he an overachiever? Does he have a lot of upside...Is he better suited for the 4-3, the 3-4, etc. etc.

These other guys give you broad analysis of the state of each team and that is all fine and dandy for after Mel speaks, or after the draft, but let Mel speak first. It's his barbecue, shall we say?
