Do the books have ALL of the post-up monies ?
As in they could pay off every account holder if all demanded payment at one time.

Lets assume no problem with processors, checks are not an issue, and Neteller still works, so if the monies are there, there's a way to send it.

Let's even allow a week or so for them to get money out of short-term investments.

Which books have the money ?

If they don't have it, what reason is acceptable for not having it ? I'm thinking maybe if it is tied up in a building worth millions, they still sort of have the money....just can't send it to you.....not really acceptable.

Are they really profitable if they can't pay off everybody ?

Doug, not sure if anyone is qualified to answer that.

My guess is that the majority of books could not do so.............

I think The books based in Curacao and of course UK must have all funds available for cash out under the law

OK, FH , what do you think of this post from OGD ?

matchbook got into trouble by seeding their markets and guys like BW and Spiros pounding them. You guys really think those 50k offers were up there from post up guys? Matchbook seeded, matchbook got destroyed, matchbook owes(or owed), matchbook settles some accounts for a fraction of the balance, end of discussion. Why would CRIS or anyone else want to take over matchbook? They can book BW at -110 why would they want to do it at -103 or whatever?

            ........................................ ........................................ ............................

I think Pinnacle withstood an early run on the bank, made them strong. Mansion for certain had the ability. WSEX fraud Cohen claimed it.

I guess Euro books have the best regulation requiring it ?

It seems to me that an honest offshore book should operate something like this.....

start up with enough of your own money to cover some pretty large start-up expenses, and cover the possibility of players even beating you for the short-term, as in don't book 100k parlays if you can't pay them.

This might take 5 Million ? I think any new book has to expect to operate at a loss for at least two years, until they build trust. Few can start out like Betjamaica

You can't really spend 2 million of that setting up shop, giving bonuses, advertising...then replace it with the post-up money. I think most of these rinky-dink books do just that ( and start with 500k), no need to list examples, well **** that....Lazerwager, BetPanam, etc. These break because they lose money and had no real start up funds.

Once you get going good, like a Betjam, CRIS, Greek,Pinny.....you should be profitable, and have the post-up money secure.....I don't know where you keep it though.....I guess not all of it needs to be in something akin to a checking account, when you'll never need to pay it all out at once. I'd love to know what they do with it.

I think that money entrusted to books needs to be pretty liquid though, to pay your customers.

You can't book like you're the gov't, and can print money at will.

Notice how Betpanam lights up in blue ?

SBR wants you to click on it, and sign up, so they get a cut. Once highly rated here, but fell fast ( like Cascade), and stiffed.

Lazerwager doesn't light up ( RX book).

Well, I believe MB has seeded their own markets, in the past and currently.

But I can also tell you with 100% conviction that there are 50k offers from post up guys there.

I have no idea whatsoever if Spiro or BW has pounded Matchbook or even played there for that matter.

Doug, are you up or down at Matchbook.........and to what degree?

I know a few wiseguys that have taken some serious losses there.............for me personally, I've done very well there overall.

Thanks for the topic Doug, good stuff.

60% do not, lack of regulation is one of the reasons. What worries me just a tad about Matchbook is how they are getting heavy into the credit markets, this is a whole different ball game and if you do not have strong collectors it could mean trouble.

IMO Matchbook has seriously dropped the ball, all you have to do is open betfair or betdaq and see the upgrades to their software of the years and matchbook has the same platform as "06" with same markets.Even Mansion had a better platform back than. They made no effort to let the markets mature own their own and gave credit to dirtbags like Lenny
                          BUT
JJ has said it before and because Matchbook made no effort to help change this perception it's still true
Most Americans are tool LAZY and TO STUPID to use Matchbook and happily pay 20 cents lines in Bases and lay -110 in Everything else
