Hi I started a thread semi bragging about winning 4 weekly contests in my first 5 weeks since I joined the site.All 4 contests were different,NHL once,MLB once,NBA once,and Cross Sports once.I got mixed responses but most were pleasant and suggested I start a thread.I am going to post picks here because the picks will be in every sport from baseball to nascar to the ponies .I rarely bet a game were I have to give points.
I have been playing poker and betting sports for over 10 years now.For the last 5 years they have been my primary income.I work hard to make very educated bets.
I will keep track and rate my plays by 1 unit being leans to 3 units being best bets.Very rarely I will do a 5 unit play but I haven't felt that way about a game since Duke beat W.Virginia.

NL Hold Em Tournaments
Success in NLHE Tournies is about playing your stack size relative to the blinds.For example in the beginning of a tournament the blinds are 5/10 and you have 3,000 chips.You have 300 Big Blinds and should be extremely patient and not put a lot of chips in the pot unless you know you have the best hand.There is no need to make silly bluffs or overplay medium strength hands like top pair.Now say the blinds are 50/100 and you only have 30 Big Blinds.Now you should start getting creative like bluffing or going all in over the top of a weak opponents opening raise.This is the hardest stack size to play and I can't really sum it up in a few sentences so maybe I'll get back to this.Last say the blinds are 150/300.Now you only have 10 big blinds and your only move is all in.You can't limp or make a standard raise because that is just spewing chips.Just shove any decent hand in mid to late position if no one has entered the pot yet and maximize what fold equity you have left.
