News: New Iphone 4 pictures/details leaked

The big news this past weekend was the leak of several photos of what appeared to be the next-generation iPhone. The early photos were a bit blurry and elicited a range of responses -- many negative. Opinions seemed to turn somewhat when high-quality images of the next-generation iPhone were revealed by Gizmodo this morning.

Dated: 4/17 - Apparently the phone was found on the floor of a San Jose bar inside of an iPhone 3G case. Right now we don't have a ton of info on the device in question, but we can tell you that it apparently has a front facing camera (!), 80GB of storage (weird, right?), and isn't booting at this point (though it was previously, and running an OS that was decidedly new)

What's new
- Front-facing video chat camera
- Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
- Camera flash
- Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
- Improved display. It's unclear if it's the 960x460 display thrown around before -- it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
- What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
- Split buttons for volume
- Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic

That thing's slick, hopefully they'll finally put a camera on the iPod Touch this year, I'm not ballin' enough for the iPhone.

I could care less if the phone had a camera. I am not into taking pictures and don't use the feature. I wish they would improve it in other ways. Who cares about a damn camera and taking pictures!

does it have a wimax chip in order to receive a 4G data connection?
can it capture 720p video?
will it have HDMI outputs?

These will be important features if they do not want to get ran over by the HTC EVO, especially the 4G data option!!

ATT does not have "4G" but ATT is currently rolling out 7.2mbs wireless, and the 3Gs alrfeady supports it

I heard that they will not have support for 4G!!!!!!

This link says the chips have not even been produced yet so there is no way the 3GS can support 4G data speeds, and it appears the iphone 4G will not either.

Verizon has a 4G network though and Phones on the android platform are going to be shipping with 4G wimp radio chipsets this summer on sprint and verizon.

4G data connection is said to be performing as fast as any connection you can get on your computer at home, this is going to hurt Apple even as we speak outside from the apple fanbase iphones are no longer ahead of the game.

Living in an area with 4G towers it appears that it would be better for me to pass on the iphone 4G, it does not look like at&t ill be ready to deploy the 7.2mbps in time. This is gonna be a set back for the iphone they have been cutting edge but now it looks like google has more money to toss around and a quality OS that is maturing rapidly.
