What about ND taking out UCLA.......fishy. ND is getting better, but UCLA should be thrashing ND. Is the Pac 10 over-rated? Dominant conference? SEC? With a loss by LSU, Ohio State could leap over everybody.

It's just a bit too wild out there for my betting tastes. It does seem fishy but you'd think if games were being fixed they'd be a little more subtle about it (i.e., they wouldn't want it so obvious to garner attention).

Yeah I agree slake. These upsets would not be the optimal way to fix games.

The parity process in college fb actually began over a decade ago, Reducing the number of football scholarships a team can offfer was key.

That coaches don't stay in one place like they used to is another factor.

And there are others. "Any Given Saturday . . ." may be the new watchword in college ball. But when the linemakers start to cut the spreads then it will be time to draft back to backing the faves.

There was not even a line for the Mich/aplachin st game but i would not be suprised if games were fixed.

Why do people keep saying the Pac-10 is overrated?

I don't get it? USC lost to a Pac-10 team and the UCLA game was a fluke.

While CAL beat Tennesee (early in the season at CAL) what teams outside the PAC-10 have USC or CAL beaten? Ok, Cal beat up on Tennesee early in the year, but with a lowly Stanford team coming into USC and beating the mighty Trojans, it is hard to see that type of win boosting the PAC-10's image. Also, USC didn't exacly look dazzling last week in beating Washington.

UCLA (3-0 in the Pac-10) was thrashed by Utah and beaten by a lowly Notre Dame (the whipping boy of the Big-10) at UCLA. Who exactly has Arizona State beaten? Until a Pac-10 team shows us that it is of the same quality of the SEC, USC's loss has to tarnish the Pac-10. Perhaps if Michigan didn't lose to App. State the week before Oregon beat them things would be different.

The Pac-10 may indeed be a good conference, but right now, it is hard to see clearly on the matter until more games are played.

Enough college talk...on to more important things....the NFL.

Let me get this straight... you are suggesting (or wanting to discuss) the possibility that major program such as mich or usc is going to throw games to second tier and division two teams? I could possibly see a couple points being shaved to not cover or a game being thrown in a lesser conference but you're telling me that.... never mind I'm laughing too hard to try to finish typing my post... By any chance is the 9/11 conspiracy guy a ghost of your's pico?

The official government conspiracy theory is one of the most ridiculous theories ever constructed. And yes, it's a a theory because the US government doesn't even list 911 as one of the reasons they want Bin Laden (there's not evidence for that). In other words, the government's official story is a conspiracy theory that even they admit they don't have good evidence for!

UCLA was down to their third team QB.

And this was the same UCLA team that gave up 5000 point to Utah.

And they may have been looking ahead to Cal.

And ND is getting better...albeit slowly.

I don't think it's "fishy" as much as it was a confluence of factors that was pretty much a perfect storm to take down UCLA.

The one I just didn't get at all was Stanford over USC. I mean from a talent basis, it's not even close. USC was at home. There is just no F'ing way the Cardinal should have been on the field with the Trojans (and no, I didn't bet the game! LOL)
