This was a gift by the umpires. Glaus was out at first with a double play before the bases were loaded for Heyward.

The play was very close...but I agree that it looked like he was out.
By the same token, it was obvious the second base umpire missed the call when he banged Chipper on the pick-off play. Chipper was safe.
While I didn't agree with the second base umpire calling the balk. The pitcher continued to balk, but it wasn't called the rest of the game.

Doc,
It was obvious the balk call was a make up call for the Chipper call earlier at second base since it was called by the same umpire. But the umpire at first called it for the home team. I felt like the Braves were treated like the Yankees in Bronx on that play. It will be interesting to see if this call affect the wild card race in September.
