I love how people on here say "it's gonna be cold tonight in (bla bla) so I bet the under. It's that easy huh...just bet the under when it's cold. You think the books don't account for that? And even if they didn't, do you think that alone beats the juice? The answers are: yes the books account for that and no you couldn't beat the juice even if they did nothing. on the same token... I agree, but mostly because I think it is a misconception... I believe in baseball coldweather actually favors hitting and the overs... for one thing in cold air is thinner and the ball travels farther (see colorado)... also, I see freezing your ass off as a detriment to defense more so than offense... pitchers arms, and fielders out there freezing having to react to the ball, probably not as easy to do as on warm nights... I would bet if you backtested all games played below 45 degrees, you would see more overs than unders... like Boston tonight....
on a final note, I had been keeping my eye out for you... you seemed to have faded away on pissing on the home series chase threads... perfect season well underway... and I personally met your challenge of picking the first 15 series without getting to a game three in the chase... that approach is + EV as long as you select the right teams to make the plays on...

Cold/Bad Weather favors Unders of course.. but it doesn't mean all games with bad weather wil go under the total. Always check the weather report before placing your bets. It's an important factor but not the whole thing.Comment -

I really tend to think it affects both hitting and pitching/defense... but a bit more to the defensive side of the ball.... and there is an advantage given to the hitting, where there is no advantage given to pitching or fielding in the cold?

Have you ever played baseball when it is 40 degrees? I have, it is not fun. With baseball season starting with snow on the ground through most of my highschool career the last thing you want to do is go swing a bat at a freezing cold ball. It sucks. No one wants to dive on the freezing cold grass, it's hard and it hurts. Even worse the dirt has absolutley no gives and you might as well go try diving in gravel. But these are major leaguers. They have the best equiptment, are in the best shape, and have the best field conditions. Of course on a cold day some will just be miserable and go out there with the whole ****ing headwarmer and just focus on staying warm. But most go out there and play because they love it. Don't bet unders just because it is cold. Unless it wins.Comment -
