    Perfect bracket
One guy has a verified perfect bracket through 48 games. Nobody got more than the first 40 games right before.

    His name is Center Roads.

    Is he a time traveler?

      Poor guy

If he was even a coal miner at one of Warren Buffet’s hundreds of companies he’d be set for life ($1M / year)

Too bad he will likely receiving nothing.

If he's a time traveler, sports betting is a good thing to get into. He can make a lot of money, and he wouldn't be risking getting arrested for insider trading like he would if he has some off the charts success in the stock market.

However, I would recommend against a time traveler making a perfect bracket or doing anything else that attracts a lot of attention. Especially since you might end up affecting the results of games if people figure out you're a time traveler. (Ie the coach makes the team practice for an extra 2 hours because you picked them to lose in their next game.) In addition, there would be suspicion that you fixed games and you might get arrested for that.

I think a 65-70% ATS record is what a time traveler should do.

That's pretty amazing. But think about it. There hasn't been an UN-THINKABLE upset yet.

If GardWebb would have won, that would have changed it. The upsets have been modest, not remote outcomes.

538 Odds of the perfect bracket are 1 in 617,029,267 (self.CollegeBasketball)

There is one perfect bracket on NCAA.com, and in their article they quoted the odds of being perfect through two rounds as 1 in 281 trillion. However they are assuming 50/50 for every game.
I was curious what a more accurate odds of this happening were given that most games aren't close to coin flips. I used 538's pre-game odds for every game and ran the data. I come up with 1 in 617,029,267. For comparison powerball is 1 in 292,201,338, so this was about half as likely as winning the powerball which is obviously still pretty rare but not quite 1 in 281 trillion.
