Anyone ever been to Augusta

This link tells a little about the way they live.. Arranged marriages to family members, not going to school past the 8th grade, how they con people to get their money.. Has no one ever heard of these guys?. Dateline did a report on them a few years back..

Yeah, i'm from North Augusta, 15 minutes away. They r a bunch of rip offs, they paint houses with paint thats so thinned out with kerosen that when it rains the paint washes off. One gets your attention outside while the others go in your house and steal. They use to have truck loads of linoleum for kitchens and bathrooms, u see a great color and buy it only to find out most of the roll is different colors. All there last names are the same (Gorman or Sherlock) so its hard to catch them. The tin foil on the windows is to keep evil spirits out of the house. They usally move in after a year. There female children are usally married by the age of 12. I went to school with them and none of them ever go past 8 grade. Outsiders are not allowed in, and if they date outside of there people they r kicked out. You are right tho they live in million dollar homes.

Thanks a lot CarolinaDaze.. I knew someone here had heard of them before.. Last year, MrMann and myself drove down to check them out.. They seem like very materialistic people.. We drove through some of their community, but were quickly followed by them until we left.. The impression we got from the locals were that most didn't interact with them and some were scared of them.. Are they violent people?. We had one small run-in with a few of them, but once we got outta the car to see if they had beef, their attitude changed..

Violent no, But if you go around there pool halls/stores/neighborhoods, they let you know you're out numbered. If some are scared of them it's because they want to keep there money. I remember when they lived in tin cans and drove shitty trucks and hoopty cars. Now million dollar houses and Escalades. They are so down with there own peeps tho. I'll tell ya something crazy, when i was in highschool there were rumors that they would pay white guys to have sex with there women and get them pregnant so they could thin out there bloodlines. They marry there close relatives all the time.

CarolinaDaze, about how many "gypsies" do you think live in N' Augusta?. I've heard it was in the thousands, but they only have like 5 different last names.. I wonder how many guys took them up on their offer to have sex with their women.. Most of them seem hot until they get about 35 years old.. Then, i guess the incest really kicks in.. Cause once they start to go downhill, they go fast..

Me personally no, but some of them look pretty good, like you said when they r young. I tried talking to one of them once, her mother came out of the store and told her to get her ass in there. The figure quoted back then was $500.

HoldEmHook, you gotta check these gypsy's out.. If you click on a link MrMann posted, look at their "friends page".. All the chics have huge bouffant hairstyles.. Piczo is their Facebook.. Even 6 month olds have their own pages.. When you drive past their homes, you'll see million dollar homes empty, but a trailor in the backyard that they live in.. Some don't have huge homes, just a camper.. But there will be 2010 BMW's & Mercede's in the camper's driveway.. And if you happen to catch them outside in their yards, they will cover their faces when you drive by..

The few we spoke to talked super fast with a very strong irish accent.. They were hard to understand.. Then, they would talk to themselves in some other language.. But i know what you mean, most will not speak to you..

I know the area very well , repossessed a few vehicles and dump trucks from them , only got confronted once and it was intense...needless to say I left with the truck...

yeah , when I was spotted trying to hotwire the truck word must've got out I was there , got the truck fired up and made it to the first stop sign when several tried to bully me down , my partner came back and with the help of mr. .38 they backed off til edgefield county arrived , total time frame may have been a few minutes from the time I was blocked in to the time edgefield arrived , just a few intense minutes , got the heart racing...

Good thing you had a weapon with you or things could've gotten a lot worse.. Whenever i travel there, i always have my pistol also.. Luckily, i've never felt the need to remove it from my glovebox.. Once when Mr.Mann & myself went, a car followed us from their community to a gas station just down the street.. They pulled up beside us & seemed very confrontational.. But we had them outnumbered at the store.. (There was 6 of us including Mr.Mann & myself) When we stepped out of the blacked out Denali we were in, there attitudes changed.. But if they ever had me outnumbered, i'm sure my heart would be racing pretty fast also..
