Phil Kessel is a very good hockey player. Boston will be lucky to draft a player with as much talent as Kessel has. They could end up drafting another Daigle. Better to go with the sure bet.

Even stupider than Toronto giving Boston a #2 overall pick for Kessel (not to mention a low 2nd round pick and another 1st rounder next season), is Toronto giving us Tuukka Rask (#1 in both GAA and SV% in the NHL this season) straight up for Andrew Raycroft.

As a Bruins fan, I am hoping Edmonton take Seguin, Hall is a much better fit for Boston being a winger, as Boston already have 3 excellent centers with more quality depth at center already in the system.

The Leafs giving up a 1st and 2nd round pick this year and another 1st round pick next year is a huge price to pay. The only way this trade will be looked at as beneficial for Toronto is if Kessel develops into an all-star first liner scoring 40+ each season.

Burke was too eager to bring in youth instead of looking long term and thinking, "well we suck this year so that means we'll be picking early in the draft this year and we'll probably suck again next year so we'll get another top 3 pick." Giving up the draft picks usually isn't good for long-term improvement.

I gotta say that Boston will most likely benefit the greatest from this trade.
