    Solve this Math Puzzle!!
3 Men go into a hotel to get a room for the night. The clerk tells them he only has 1 room available, and it is $30 for the night.

The men agree, and each pay $10 for the room. $10 x 3 = $30

The next day the manager checks the books, and finds that the agent charged the men the wrong price for the room. The room was supposed to be $25 for the night.

So the manager gives the bell boy $5 to return to the men. $30 - $5 = $25

    The Bellboy knowing the men cants split $5 3 ways evenly, he pockets $2. $5 - $2 = $3

So the bell boy tells each man they were overcharged for the room, and returns $1 to each man (remember he Pocketed the $2.... $1 x 3 = $3... and $3 + $2 = $5)

So each man since they recieved $1 back paid $9 each for the room, which brought the cost of the room to $27 ( $9 x 3 = $27) and the bellboy pocketed $2 ( $27 for the room and $2 for the bellboy = $29) So where did the $30th dollar go?
Men get fifty dollars for a sperm donation. I've got a towel at home thats worth $250,000. It's leaning up against the wall in my bedroom

Only 27 dollars was paid out by the men. 25 for the room and 2 to the bell boy. Saying that they paid $27 for the room (9x3 = 27) is misstating the amount because this INCLUDES the $2 skim from the bell boy. Dunno if this answers the question of "where" the dollar went..

Step 1: Men need a hotel room. Before paying, the totals are:
                Men $30
                Hotel: $0
                Boy: $0
                Grand total = $30

Step 2: Men pay for their room. The new totals:
                Men $0
                Hotel $30
                Boy $0
                Grand Total $30

Step 3: Hotel makes mistake; gives boy $5 to give back to men.
                Men: $0
                Hotel: $25
                Boy: $5
                Grand Total $30

Step 4: Boy pockets $2, gives men $3
                Men: $3
                Hotel: $25
                Boy: $2
                Grand Total $30

The total is always $30, so there is no missing $1. It's just the way the question is presented, to make it seem like there is a missing dollar, but if you follow along, there really isn't.

This reminds me of another great puzzle. Does anyone know who was the father of the sons of Abraham?

Abraham had many sons, and many sons had father Abraham.

there was never a 30th dollar assuming they each paid 9 dollars -- if they paid 9 dollars each - that 27 - 2 to the bellyboy, 25 to the house --
