The last time Doc Rivers spoke before a game in the Garden, he told reporters that his plan was to limit his star players' minutes just a tad heading into the playoffs, rather than giving them full nights off. That was clearly smoke and mirrors, as he held Kevin Garnett out of the lineup Saturday night in Milwaukee.
The odds of that happening again tonight, with Garnett or any other Celtic starter, are relatively low, as the C's are coming off of two days of rest. Rivers may opt to extend the starters' minutes tonight and then rest them Wednesday night at home against the Bucks.
At this point, though, no one knows what to expect. All we know is that the decisions Rivers does make regarding the playing time of his starters tonight will most likely play a large role in the outcome of this game.

so its tough to say. i have two theories on this.

1. they will rest a lot tonight to give a very old team a really nice lay-off
2. they also want the bulls to win the 8th spot and give the Cavs a semi-tough series

either way im in boston watching the celts pregame, i hope to hear that pierce and kg are resting. ill let you know

Wow, Bulls were such easy money in this... Celtics have been just waiting around for the playoffs for months. Rose and Heinrich were on fire but that doesn't happen if the Celtics really give a sh-t.

I'm looking to make more Bulls money tomorrow vs. a Charlotte team who similarly won't give a crap!

be carefull with the Bulls in charlotte. I can see the NBA desperately wanting to get their only canadian team into the playoffs. On the flip side Chicago can miss them and still sell plenty of tix/merchandise/whatever next year.

Interesting point. But honestly, I don't think the Bulls' backcourt is gonna let the refs decide this one.
