I remember Russ Culver when Vegasinsider was sportsline. He gave alot of good picks back in 1995 on many underdogs that you would never think would win. By trying to analyze his choices I saw that he leaned heavily on the starting pitcher and not so much on the teams's record. Analyzing his choices taught me alot about how to bet bases in my early years and I will always be thankful to him for that.

Russ is one of the sharpest and classiest guys to ever grace this business.

Last I heard, he was living in Indiana pursuing other ventures not related to sportsbetting.

I know Russ from as far back as 1982, and got to know really well when he was a supervisor at the GN downtown Las Vegas.........I had many friends that worked in that joint.

Can't see how he could be broke after all the cash he made with Obama's election. He was right from start to finish on that one and bet it heavily throughout. Just constantly put new offers out on Matchbook and cleaned up.
