Why do Sportsbooks offer such poor customer service?
and why do we accept it?

I have just come off livechat with CRIS (sorry CRIS you just happen to be the most recent of a string of poor CS issues I have had recently), this is my story.

I went onto the CRIS site to make a deposit. Note I wanted to give them money so there is no ulterior motive for the poor customer service, it is not a deception to prevent a wihdrawal ,it is just pure bad customer service.

So I go to the deposit option and it has changed a little. Personal details are now pre-entered and cannot be changed. Thats fine I guess it helps prevent credit card fraud.

However someone at CRIS has entered BOTH my first and last name into the First name box. When I try submit the form it tells me to enter a last name. The box is locked though to prevent editting.

Never mind a quick live chat should solve this genuine mistake.
Or at least that was what I thought.

Get a CS rep who tells me to phone in and make a deposit, I could do this but I would prefer to solve the problem or I will have to call every time. CS says nothing she can do. I plead.
She goes to the accounts department.

    Message comes back

To change personal details I have to send in new ID documents.

    WTF?
I dont want to change my personal details, I just need them to enter my details in the correct box, how hard is that ?

    But they wont see this

"Accounting Department informed me that we need you to send us some documents in order to continue with your request, we need a front and back copy of your credit card, a picture ID copy along with the authorization forms filled out. Then they will be able to correct your name"

So they just lost a $1000 wager. How many 1000s of bets per year to they lose because of such poor customer service

Not all sportsbooks offer poor customer service

Some of the sportsbooks do offer poor customer service.

Some of the ones with good customer service include Bodog, Greek, Jamaica, WSEX, VIP, and Legendz. Some of these do not allow players that are long term winners, so books can not be judged on just customer service alone, unless you're betting just for fun.
