Ok so a month ago I came out to Bangkok. Second week I was here my passport and wallet were stolen from me.

So I go to the U.S. Embassy and they promised me a replacement passport within 3 weeks. Like a fool I actually believed them. Its been 3 weeks and nothing. So today I go there and they treated me like I was a freakin criminal. They claim that I need to go to Cambodia to get my **** extended first and that there is currently nothing they can do for me.

This makes absolutely zero sense to me as how am I supposed to have my **** added with no replacement passport???? I am literally on the verge of flipping out as I am stuck in this country because some subhuman pile of shit ganked my passport and wallet. I would do anything for 2 minutes alone with the bastards responsible.

Crazy thing is I heard stories about the U.S Embassy in Thailand being a joke and extremely rude and unhelpful before I came out but I just dismissed them. Now I can see how right they were.

To make a long story short now I have to take a trip to Cambodia to get my extension otherwise they would detain me when I finally try to leave. What started out as a trip in paradise has slowly turned into the biggest nightmare of my life...

Bummer man. Stay cool (literally too) and try not to get angry about "why" you have to do something, the real reason is likely buried deeply in a thicket of domestic and foreign bureaucracy. Nah, Thailand is seriously cheap as hell. I obviously can't vouch for how much the women go for but by the looks of some of the hoodlums you see walking down the street with them, they can't be that expensive.

The first time I went I budgeted $6k for accommodation, spending and shopping. Stayed in a 5 star resort, bought a whole heap of stuff and ate/drank like a queen and came home with a little under $3k. And I was there for 2 weeks. One of the best countries to go visit!!
