i gotta start droppin weight myself..ever time i go through a stregth/muscle building stretch i put on a shit load of weight (muscle and fat) guess it good though because most ppl cant put on muscle like i can w/o cheating, unfortunately i gain fat as easy as i do muscle and like adding muscle much more than i like trying to drop fat

well for starters, determine your avg. calorie intake and cut it down a quarter, if your lookin to lose weight thats the first step

second is a routine eating schedule, train your body to develop hunger at certain times of the day by eating around the same time everyday. also drink water throughout the day to keep your metabolism working all day.

dont know what your equip is but doing crunches with dumbells in each hand is effective. bigger arms gotta work the muscles: curls for biceps, push downs for triceps, etc.

also eat protein, target weight x10, developing muscle and losing fat are two separate processes, so treat them as such

roch, i wrote a long post about this for someone before. basically, if you want to lose the gut quick go on no carb. Its an easy diet because you wont starve & eat alot of meat & fish. Workout with those weights 2-3 times a day for 15-20 minutes. Walk, walk, walk. Drink ALOT of water. With the no carb you cut sugar out of your diet, which is carbs, and you drop weight quick

Your going to lose more weight running than just standing still doing weights, also make sure you masturbate once a day, good for metabolism and can be a workout in itself.

Don't eat anything for a 1 week. You will lose 10-15 pounds. Then start working out, running/walking especially, and don't drink soda or beer; stop eating out: mcdonalds and taco bell, and all fast food. you will be get to 180 in 3 month from now.

Not true. Lifting weights elevates your heart rate and can burn just as many calories as a run, assuming you go strong. Muscle also burns fat. I think the standard number was something like 1 pound of muscle burns around 50 calories a day. A mixture of both is your best bet for short term results as well as long term.

I would suggest 3-5 days of weights(example: 1day chest/triceps 2nd day back/biceps, 3rd dayshoulders/legs , etc whatever is best for you) with 2 days of 30mins+ for cardio. as for your diet.. try eating around 5-6 SMALL meals a day. Eat a good amount of protein and try to limit your fat intake. Accomplish this by eating a lot more chicken breasts, lean steak, turkey, fish, etc..

Also remember. 90% of this is accomplished by your diet. 10% is the exercise. Good eating habits will lead to a healthy lifestyle.

After you accomplish your goal you will be able to eat more liberally as long as BigDaddyHQ doesn't find out.

jogging/running everyday would help. Start from 15 mins a day and then increase to 60.

Simply as a point of reference, I've trained clients part time for years (full time before) and read thousands of articles on the subject, degree included.

Just doing cardio without including weight training as well is highly inefficient. You may or may not necessarily burn more cals during cardio, but one thing is for certain: lifting does a lot more in terms of raising your resting metabolic rate. I would recommend both.

As others have mentioned, diet is really more than half the equation. Probably a lot more. You might as well get over your salad and/or vegetable phobia. That's probably your issue in the first place. Ultimately you do indeed have to create a calorie deficit, but it's a lot easier to do when you're eating more natural (greens, veggies, lean meats) and less processed, carb filled junk.

As a general rule, foods in a box or bag suck and have a high calorie content with little nutritional value. Shop around the perimeter of your grocery for eggs, meet, dairy, fruits, and vegetables. One of the easiest first steps is to eliminate drinks with any calories. Ditch the sugary drinks, juices, and whatever else with the occasional exception of milk.

GL and keep me posted if you wish.

If you've got a gut you probably won't be able to see your abs until you drop some weight. However, to get your abs strong I recommend AB DVD's. They help me stay motivated more than just doing ab workouts on my own. Your local library probably has a few. One of my favorite's is "Perfect Abs". You can probably get it on Ebay for around $10. There are 8 different workouts and they are all pretty good. If you're consistent with your workouts you'll notice that you're abs will feel harder in just a few short weeks.

Start with streneous cardi for 4-5 times a week. After a month add in some dumbell work, the next 3rd month work on your diet. It is hard to do all 3 at once, trust me. After these 3 months you should be physically fit.

Read the Body for Life book. Protein bars and shakes will give you energy to work out and help with weight loss. Stay away from creatine though... it will make you crazy!
