Yeah man, take the 2/3 or 4/5 to Borough Hall stop (1st in Brooklyn). There is a free shuttle to the new Ikea there. You can also get to it via a water taxi for free, check their website. They will deliver the furniture for a flat rate of $85 to Manhattan ($75 to Brooklyn) and it is cheap.

Word to the wise, try to get some of not-so-cheap stuff from Ikea. Most of the lowest price tier stuff is like particle board construction which is crap (w/ exception of the $50 coffee table). But the second level up is solid pine or other cheap wood so it is sturdy, although it gets marked up easily. GL.
