Might not be the popular pick, but Mark Ellis has been playing great for Oakland to start the season. He really seems to be seeing the ball well so far, hitting over .400.

Oakland has also been getting a lot of offense from the bottom third of their lineup. Ellis could help get your team some hits, runs, and RBI's.

I agree with Archie, especially if it's only a temporary solution. JJ appears to be continuing his pattern of starting the season strong and I'd ride him til he tails off.

Vernon Wells is a free agent in my league

Mexi I let Wells go right before the season. He seems to end up on my team every year and always kills me. I decided to cut ties with him permanantly. I don't care if he hits 85 homers this year he will never be on my team again.

I picked him up for McLouth. He is the oldest guy on my team. Needed the veteran presence. Not a big Wells guy, but he can sit on my team for now since I need a little pop. Shame he used up his good numbers in the first series.

Mexi I feel you. I have been making a killing off of these newbies in my league. I had to let my brother draft the team because I wasn't around and I told him, make sure you get me as many closers as you can. He got me Francisco Cordero and Fernando Rodney

. Rodney isn't even a closer! In the past two days though I picked up Rauch, Capps, and Nunez. I have a feeling at least two of the three will be good closers. Don't know how these guys can leave three closers up for grabs in the free agency.

My league is just a group of friends and somewhat competitive ha. If you saw our draft you would think everybody is stupid. Some guys fell to a ridiculous spot and others taken extremely early.

I am biased with Cordero, but I think he should be really solid all year. Shame you have Rodney for nothing. I don't even have a closer on my team. One guy has 6-7 closers. Pretty shocked you got all three guys. I think my league let Capps hit free agency, but he was taken shortly later.

Yea I'm in it with a bunch of friends as well. Can't play with strangers, it's just no fun. Mine is competitive but these mu****as are just STUPID. Some guy before the season started dropped Hamels and Abreu in a 3 day span while keeping Scutaro and John Maine stashed on his bench.

That is insane. Abreau wasn't drafted forever in my league. Way past his pre-ranking. My league isnt that bad, but had some crazy drafting going on myself included.

I don't know why but nobody drafted Hideki Matsui either.
