    Something to think about
You know boys I am a deep thinker. Many times before, and today while watching the Masters on TV but from only about 10 miles away from Augusta National, Tiger Woods is probably the best player to ever play the game BUT......in all probability the best natural golf talent God ever put on this Earth never even picked up a golf club. What percentage of the total population that ever lived on this Earth even played the game of golf that was just invented? Even today, MAYBE 2% of the total population on Earth ever picks up a golf club. Out of all time, far less than .001% were exposed to golf. I have no idea the figure but it is way down there.

The same applies to every sport. Jordan was the best bballer to ever play but the best probably never bounced a basketball. The best probably had a 60 inch vertical, 6-10 and could hit pro 3's at a 55% clip against NBA competition, OR EVEN BETTER. WE WILL NEVER KNOW.

I'm pretty sure he was, considering that's where the majority of MLB players come from

Its just an amazing thing to think about. How good is the best God-given-talent basketball team right now? Because probably 3 starters on the team would have never even played the game. They would beat the dream team by 20 on average.

Chi yea, its way less than 2%, even in today's world where golf is worldwide in 1st world countries. The 3rd world doesn't have many accessible golf courses. What if every child in the world were given golf lessons for 3 years? Many would emerge better than Tiger. Hundreds.

The problem is that it's not so simple as giving someone a golf club and seeing how they fare... Tiger is who he is because he is absurdly talented and has worked phenominally hard. Even if there are people more naturally gifted, which there are, they would need 10-20 years of work before they could touch Tiger.

Not that many people have access to a golf course to practice daily..... most golfers come from a upper class.

The number of full time golfers is incredibly low to any other "popular" sport.

That's why the one guy that's in shape is best in the world........nobody plays this game.

Basketball - EVERYONE has access to this sport. Played by millions. Golf barely anyone can play this daily to master it.

I think you are way over emphasing the nature part....... don't forget nurture...

at some sports you definately need to have some prerequisite size/ability...at least for certain positions
