Many people signed up because the travel $ was going very quickly.

If you are in the top 25 on the waiting list you have a good shot at getting travel reimbursed.

Think about it, if you can cancel a month in advance with no penalty why wait until the end of July to sign up and not get travel money when you can just sign up yesterday?

I definitely plan on attending (free weekend in vegas, why the hell not!) but I did use this logic in pushing me over the edge to register.
