Not sure if going for straight sets is needed here, considering that we could get -110 for Kasatkina later tommorow. Becuase it seems like money is coming in on Osaka.

But I agree with you that Kasatkina is the play here. Not because Osaka was given the match vs Halep. With Kasatkina it's pretty much always the question how much her playing style bother opponent and how much will conditions help her. Venus obviously had an anwser. She's a tall girl. Kerber and Woz had to hit those same shots at shoulder height, while for Venus it was lower and she was much more comfortable. Also, she doesn't mind going side to side and hit it cross court on the run.
Osaka with her serve and power might seem like similar player to Serena, but she's not. Doesn't like the high ball, and loves to play from the middle. Something she will not get often vs Daria. Also, finals are not played in the evening, but in day time when it's warmer and the bounce of the ball is even more extreme in Indian Wells, which will make things even more difficult for her.

Something that it's bit worrisome is Kasatkina struggling to find that cross court corner with her top spin forehand, when there is a lot of pace on the ball. And Osaka also being better server. But still, I think she got this one.
