then don't watch it. the secret of baseball is: the more you know about the ins and outs of the game, the more you'll love it. sort of like football, where if you just know the very general basics, you have no idea how absolutely awesome certain plays/matchups are.
if you see a guy who is 0 balls 2 strikes, the pitcher throws a curveball in the dirt or a pitch way too high and you say, "his first 2 pitches were good, why did he miss by so much there?" you aren't that informed about baseball

I hear what you are saying in that it is dangerous. But every league is dangerous. I think hockey gets the biggest 'tilt' in that capper say it is easy but in fact the lines are juice heavily and it takes great skill and care to win at NHL.

MLB however I find to be the easiest sport to cap. I play five cent lines at 5 dimes and it is very easy. I recommend five cent lines (or even ten cent lines) to any newbie. You can bet thousands of dollars on five cent lines and break even. Doing the same on NBA would lead to much more volatily.

SRBI I do agree with what you said, I just wanted to add that baseball often has the best lines available of any sport for the recreational bettor. I am recreational not a pro and I find baseball to be my favorite sport, less risk than other sports.

I think it's fair to say that to most people baseball is slow, dull, and boring. I mean lets be honest, the only time a baseball game is exciting is when the bases are loaded and someone hits a grand slam. Besides that, nothing really happens. One guy pitches, the other guy bats.

Now if you grew up watching and playing the sport, it's a different story altogether.

Watching the games to some people brings that joy back, undoubtedly.

It's like that with every sport.

Most importantly though, to each their own.

Baseball is boring, but that doesn't bother me. It allows me to have the games on and cap tomorrow's games/races at the same time. Slow and boring is just fine with me. Fast and boring, like college basketball, does bother me. If the action is fast it should at least by exciting, like the NHL.

The best summer I ever had in my life was the year I was teaching high school and took the summer off and there was nothing to do but cap and bet baseball. I got the MLB package on satellite and watched a TON of games. You really start to get the feel for teams and pitchers and bullpens. I loved it. Winning money is never boring.

162 games when everybody knows the outcome after the first 60. way too long. if there were any other sports going on, baseball would stand zero chance. they are the only show in town for 4 straight months.

I will agree though as i was just telling my gf last night how boring it must be to watch if your not a fan. I love baseball let's go cubbies. Zambrano and his 17 mil a yr is no more than a number 2 or 3 starter though. We have so much money locked up in avg players. Soriano,Silva,Fuk adome, Big Z. I hate to say it but the Cardinals run away with the division by the allstar break.

To watch baseball you have to be able to be into all the history and the stats that the game offers. The most fascinating part of the game is the guessing game between the batter and the pitcher. Those who enjoy that and like having their mind stimulated can't get enough of baseball.

Unfortunately that isn't most of america anymore. we live in action based video game world where mind stimulation is not what people want anymore.

Baseball is a great game. I enjoy watching it and playing some catch in the yard, too...fond memories of playing in "little league" and having pick-up games with the neighborhood kids. Just a fun game to watch and play, IMO.
