I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you but, what in the bible isn't fiction? There's nothing in the first 3 pages of the book of Genesis that isn't complete nonsense. That's not to say that the entire bible is nonsense. But it doesn't start off with much credibility. So, what in the bible isn't fiction?

You don't have to believe in Easter holiday but similar to Thanksgiving, it is great day to gather with your family.

I agree, and I'm an Atheist. My favorite Holidays are The 4th of July and Thanksgiving. Paid days off from work and not a lot of pressure that Christmas and other holidays can bring. Not to mention there's usually a pretty damn good meal involved. Why would anyone not like these holidays?

The bible has alot of historical facts in it. I'm not saying by any means it's a biography of Jesus of Nazareth, far from it! It leaves out the years of his life from about 10 to early thirties because the pope wanted nothing documented about him being in India smoking hash & fukin whores. But, alot of it is historically accurate. King James version of the book is the most diluted with more books left out & rewritten than the earlier versions.

I understand what you're saying, it is a book of fiction. But think of it as a movie that's based on true events but the characters have been given superpowers & the majority of the facts have been changed to give you a biased view.

Religious beliefs are an entire category beliefs that many people feel should automatically be accepted as inscrutable by default. They say others' religious beliefs should be exempt from scrutiny solely because the topic is religion. They say religious beliefs are somehow beyond all reproach regardless of the content of the beliefs.

It's as though all members of your society are in a pitch-black room and they have a flashlight to use to look around, but for some reason shining the flashlight into a particular corner of the room is taboo. The problem is that shit in that unlit corner might end up being a source of cancer.

As an example, think back about how nice it was before the UIGEA became law and remember how that bill was attached to the Port Security Bill by Bill Frist, why he did it, and which voters he was trying to win by doing it, and what those voters' beliefs are.
