I just jumped on first half Duke -4.

What is that, the RCA dome that they play in, in Indy? Whatever it is, that place is so f'ing cavernous that it doesn't really seem like "home court advantage" to me. Yesterday you could really hear the Michigan State fans loudly. I would discount the home team advantage entirely (and who has spent more time at Indy in the tourny between these two teams? Isn't Duke really the "home team" here?).

The guards on both teams are very similar - take great care of the ball, can hit threes, super pesky on defense and get a lot of turnovers. I don't think that Butler has anything the equivalent of Singler - someone that can drive to the hole at will, bury threes, hit fadeaway / impossible shots. Duke's center - i forget his name - Butler also has no one like that from a rebounding perspective.

Not a single team has gotten 60 points against Butler in the tourny, they kept saying. Duke will get at least 70. And if Butler has even ONE cold spell like they did against Michigan State yesterday, where they can't hit a fg in what was it, almost 8 minutes? - they are going to lose by 20 points.

Throw in the intangible factor of Duke's professional flopping. They are coached to instigate little scrappy altercations, and to flop / react in such a way that the other guys pick up the foul 75% of the time. I think they'll manage to get Howard or someone else key on Butler in trouble within the first 10 minutes of the game.

I despise Duke. But I've seen them play a lot this year. This is an especially confident / prideful group. I think they come out and immediately control this game and punch Butler in the stomach. The only way I see Butler hanging in this game is if they have some sort of extraordinary three point shooting percentage, because they aren't going to hold Duke to 60, they aren't going to get them to turn the ball over a lot, and they aren't going to be able to score inside against Duke in the half court set.

Duke played what was probably it's best game of the year on Saturday night. If they even come remotely close to matching that effort, I think they win going away. Butler has to keep the game in the 50s to have a chance and I do believe Duke has way too many ways to score.
