    Like 3 points?

If they played in Bumfvck, USA it seems to me they would still be -1. So is there no advantage to playing the final 4 in your home city or would Mich St actually be favored by a couple if they played on a true neutral site?

Small school, small conference. No Horizon team has ever been close to this point and Michigan St. is a powerhouse. I think the line definitely favors MSU at another site. Very interested to see how it plays out.

I have always thought homecourt is way overrated in hoops anyway. And this isnt even their homecourt. Just home city. Not their locker room. Not the floor they walk on, not the basket they sink 100 3's in everyday at practice.

There is a distinct homefield advantage in football due to noise. The home crowd makes it difficult for the opposing offense to audible. In hoops, noise isnt really a factor. I feel homecourt advantage in hoops is nothing more than getting to keep your routine, sleep in your bed the night before the game, no jetlag, play in your house where you're comfortable and know every squeak in the hardwood, how tight the rims are, where you practice every day. So none of that is an advantage for either team here, except possibly the being at home the night before. I don't know though, some coaches make them stay in hotels just so they dont get too comfortable when playing 20 miles from home!

Profit, actually you list a lot of reasons why Butler has some advantages. I also think crowd noise and playing at home, home city anyway, is worth something. You will get a couple of calls normally. Probably 3 points would reasonable. If this was Mich St -2 I don't think anyone would be surprised with the line.

With Butlers lack of depth but great play from the starters I think for starters I'm going to nibble on Butler for the 1H.

1st half is the best bet,if this stays close near the end Butler will lose their legs similar to Baylor in the Duke game.
