JJ you of all people know in this time of the internet that you can't lie on a resume in a 170K a year job.If you did go in for an interview and "wowed" them and they invited you back for a 2nd interview that would be when they did all the background checks

The head of the alcohol and drug rehad in my town probably has a piece of the 3 liquor stores within 3 blocks of the clinic. As we speak he is probably getting set up with some drug dealers to move to a location in closer proximity to the rehad clinic.

Talk about having a good thing going............

I've always lied like hell on resumes, or at the least embellish alot. I've found that if you can woo them in the interview they will never call former employers. The key is having your references trained to back up what your resume says & build on the strong points you had in the interview. Always take care of the people you list as references.

Once you interview, you'll know what they liked about you. SO once you get out of the interview immediately have a planning session with your 2-3 references to go over their script because they will be getting a call within 24 hours.

you cannot lie about your education unless you have fake degrees printed up to back it up. also, as another poster said they can check databases or call schools. the only part you can fudge is the past employers and have people listed as references who they can call, but in this internet age, i would not recommend that either. and, as brock said, once they see that you have no idea how to do a simple sales forecast (any sales director should know this), you are screwed and they will know you're full of shit. the sales forecast is just the beginning of the things you wont be able to do................

I definitely recommend lying about everything except your Social Security #. Don't forget to recommend downsizing in your interview. That's an old trick I learned from Dwight Shrute.
