cause you know right now if that tax was on no lye relaxer or bootleg DVDs, the media would be going ape shit right now.

Iran was building nukes when Bush was in office.

Some neocons were wishing/hoping/praying George would have pre-emptively bombed Tehran because of that before he left office.

And I do agree with one thing you posted. Those loonies that think Bush et al bombed the WTC are a f'd up lot of individuals.

I dont see the connect, I mean whites wanting to be darker?

I suppose skin bleaching treatments should be taxed as well then to make things fair.

Because you can take your shirt off and use the sun rays to tan without getting skin cancer from the tanning beds who use fossile fuel energy to operate and emit CO2 pollution to the atmosphere.

It is a racist policy since white people are the only ones that tan. Why don't we put a tax on do rags and hair grease while we're at it, oh wait that would backfire and only cost the government more.

This has nothing to do with global warming. It's a pure energy conservation. Why waste electricity when you can tan for free using solar energy? Also the health risks of using a tanning bed outweigh the benefits of tanning using solar energy.

                  It may indeed be discriminatory.

In order for a law (including a tax levied by the Congress) to be unconstitutional under the equal protection clause a discriminatory motive must be shown, not simply a discriminatory effect.

If you could show that the law was passed with some discriminatory motive (i.e. evidence from the congressional minutes, a history or pattern of discrimination on this basis, etc) you might have a Constitutional challenge. And even if you successfully raised this challenge you would need to (or the gov't could) show the requisite level of scrutiny was met, maybe it is motivated by discrimination but is nonetheless valid out of necessity.

Contact your local Constitutional lawyer if you feel discriminated against.

                    you want to conserve energy??

quite making it so easy for these fukk ups to have 8 kids without any fukking way to pay for them.. that will conserve alot more than energy.. this is the problem with the country and should be the first thing on everyones plate.. not tanning beds and other nonsense they talk about..

you should get welfare for ONE kid, if you have another one you cant pay for.. too fukking bad...

Tanning tax is BULLSHIT. I've never used a tanning bed in my life but it is still BULLSHIT because it only effects ONE RACE. We could all pick out other habits, uses, and products used mainly by other races and tax them due to some effect on nature if we wanted but we don't, why becuase the government is in debt and need money so they tax the weathiest bracket with no effect to them (due to the weathiest bracket using no government income support) except more cash in the pockets to help support everyone else and continue on in their debtful ways. Obama was cool with me until he let this one ride.

The concept of energy conservation is so alien with people here. Sure lets all drive V8's with 6.0 engines that do 9 mpg. I mean why not?

can't believe there is another illogical position put forth by the libs.

                          energy conservation?

if that was the goal, why would the United States Government make the building of new nuclear power plants impossible? it is cleaner and more efficient. so if energy costs aren't the real reason, i wonder what could be....

fukk you people are stupid. healthcare was such a huge issue and required immediate action that the dems said 127/day because they have no insurance. so between now and when government insurance kicks in, the humanity loving democrats will watch more than 185,000 people die? and premiums are only going to go up. hmmm, so it was about insuring the uninsured (not happening) and keeping costs low (didn't and will not happen)...i wonder what that was really about then.

this is a guido and stripper tax...

I've never fake baked, and never will.

I doubt many on this forum do.

we should put some extra tax on weaves though, welfare chicks will pay 1k on those (they have layaway plans too), and choose not to buy school uniforms, pay the electric, buy their kids an actual bed ect....

It's not a tax on white people. It's a tax on the vapid and the shallow who are putting themselves at risk for health problems which could conceivably need to be paid by the taxpayers. Therefore we tax them now to make up for the costs down the line.

Most lights used in tanning beds give off mainly ultraviolet radiation, which cause skin and eye cancer, according to the International Agency for Cancer Research.

wouldn't it be a lot easier and make a helluva lot more money to tax the shit out of fast food? not even huge i mean, like an added nickel to every big mac or whopper. you telling me tanning is worse than some fat fukker throwing down double cheeseburgers on the regular? go look and find how much money skin cancer costs medical bills wise. and then go and look how the number one problem facing America is obesity, which leads to the largest money maker for big pharma, diabetes. gonna cost American taxpayers millions more to care for the diabetic and the obese than a couple of bitches with leather skin

Yeah, no doubt. If I had to guess I'd say the fast food conglomerates put more money toward the campaigns of politicians than the tanning people do, they certainly have more money. Fast food also is a way of life for way too many people, and putting a tax on it might just make them spend more and cause more economic downfall. You could debate this forever. People need to take responsibility for their crap is what the whole thing boils down to.

On a related note, the health care bill that passed does require fast food places to post caloric information on their menus. So at least it's something.
