No im in school to be a CPA, but with my current savings plan by the time im 35 i could have over half a million saved and have bought a house cash in new mexico for 70k( all my fam lives out there im basically by myself in cali), and work part time. By that time id be vested in for about $1200 a month from pepsi and i could work part time to pull in another 1500 a month with no house payment. And that is my very worst case scenerio.....

well worst case scnerio is i **** around and have 3 kids and a wife and live broke forever.....

best case scenerio i open my own business 5 years out of school...

but to answer your question Pepsi has a hourly pension plan that you have to work 25 years to retire. Since i put in like 55 hours a week it would only take me 20 years to retire and get 85% of my gross pay, so in essence if i chose to continue i could retire at age 40 from pepsi.

    16,500 yr 401k
    5,000 yr roth
    10,000 yr liquid cash

been my goal and assuming no interests and no growth thats half a million in 14 years.

I'm a low stakes gambler. I only lost $120 in gambling this year.
Most gamblers are in the red but the red for me isn't bad at all.

I think I'm worth $1100 because that's how much is in my bank account, lol.

Comfortably in second but I'm old so that raises depreciation concerns.

Goals change plans change its a way of life but you always have to be reaching for something or else you stay in neutral. Do i truely believe ill have reached financial freedom by age 35? Of course i have my doubts but thats why its a goal. Most people my age that post here have a goal of being a rich professional gambler. Of those two conclusions which one seems to have the higher likelyhood?

You have my sympathies. Just finished paying 20K per year for 4 and my child still owes about 45K. The worse part is Obama and Stafford charging your generation 7% while giving money away at 0 to banks etc.

Yup, doesn't make any sense. Wheres my bailout??? But if all goes as planned il be done with it in 7 more years. Not bad being only 5 years out. But I haven't been able to save anything, so hopefully nothing disastrous happens that sets me back. I also hope to be making more money as I just got a promotion.

Oh the joys of the daily grind

Nah. Rates are adjustable. So with prime being so low thats the one good thing. Stafford rates are fixed. I'm at a 5.25. U can consolidate ur fed loans at a fixed rate.

Just went through the process. Check the details as they're dirty. New rule changes say max you have to pay is 10% of income and if not paid off in 20 years (of active paying?) it's forgiven. So if you really suck for the next 20 years you win I guess. Given this and the national debt makes me really worried. Local paper had an article about the "Lost Generation". Something like 49% between 16-29 out of work.
