I usually volunteer for the event each year but I'm going out of town for Easter. I usually work the hospitality booths where there's great food and gift items. I've worked the parking lot, gave out promo items, etc in the past. One job I'm going to try and get is a score keeper. A good friend of mine has been keeping digital scores the past few years and it's a blast. You follow several pro's or maybe just one and you keep their score updated on the digital board. Your basically right on the hole with the players and caddies. Last year he had Geoff Ogilvy and Greg Norman and had some excellent pictures with both and got autographs, etc. Tomorrow he's following Emmitt Smith in the pro am along with 2 other guys ( I think one is Lucas Glover). Real neat gig, especially when the weather's great like it will be this week.Comment -
Huh? The only big player not at the Open is Tiger and he hadn't been here in years. I was told that said he'd never come back after he had some incident at the event, where he felt racial innuendos. I'm not sure the validity of the claim but that's what I heard.Originally posted by jjgold
