and i dont mean just deleting it..i mean setting that bitch on fire and destroying it....how would they ever find out who "Pecos Bill" is? is it still possible for a persons computer history to be viewed even if you physically destroy the computer?
If i destroyed my computer, would there be any way to find out my internet history?

#10There are two ways you could still get tagged.
First, it's awful damn hard to really kill a hard drive. If you burnt your computer, but didn't completely melt the metal components, there is a good chance the hard drive is still intact. If they can recover your hard drive, they can easily recover your browsing history.
If you are involved in serious crime that attracts the attention of the feds, they have programs they can send and install on any machine on the internet (courtesy of Microsoft's numerous involuntary and quasi-planned security holes). If you are hit with this, they will have real-time updates on what you are doing. Destroying your computer won't destroy your history.
If you have already been tagged by this, not even incinerating your entire machine to ashes will destroy the evidence. If you suspect you are being investigated but cannot afford a new machine and IP address, you really need to use a non-standard encryption for any sensitive data.Comment -

#18Play it safe, destroy the machine and drink the melted metals so they can't recreate your machine.
I think if they hack into your computer they obviously can't use this as evidence unless they have a warant, which they wouldn't because they have to notify you. (i think this is how it works) So if you destroy your machine you should be alright bud.Comment -

#23They use sealed warrants all the time for serious criminal investigations, where disclosure of the warrant would interrupt an ongoing investigation. They have done this with BetOnSports, organized crime, ...Comment
