Saw a strange light phenomenon tonight. UFO?

I wish I had video of it, but my friend and I were standing outside, no highrises anywhere around, and we saw 4 circular lights in the sky spinning in a circle. We could tell it was either from above or within the clouds. It really looked like a UFO but as human beings our defense mechanisms took over and we were trying to find rational explanations. We both walked away having convinced ourselves it was maybe something from the ground... but now i just dont know... it was so freaky, my friend said 'do you fukking see that shit?' like SEVEN times in a row when he saw it.

Has anyone else ever seen this? could this be done from the ground? with no buildings around?

Hard to say but light can be reflected in clouds. This makes it hard to tell where the light came from...

airport strobe beacons. Around here car dealerships rent em or buy em & do crazy shit with em when they're having a big sale. You can easily see them from a town or two over. You cant always exactly see a source on the ground, but it looks like a circle of lights dancing in the sky directly over where they are coming from
