No way in hell they win the National Championship. They could make it to the title game but it won't happen.

If they did win tonight, 90% of the country will be cheering for them to defeat TENN

imo, the tourney is better when the BEST teams advance, the biggest, baddest, best schools. remember what happened to cornell vs kentucky? 06 george mason vs florida? thats no fun. the BEST teams should advance to the final 4 and final gms so we have a chance, just a chance, to get classics like 98 duke and uconn, 03 syracuse and kansas, 08 memphis and kansas. obviously, not every final 4 gm and final gm is a classic, but the mid-majors get too wide-eyed and usually get smothered in the sweet 16 and elite 8 so they don't even get to the final 4

they were just a bunch of pretenders and deep down inside you all knew it cause if you didnt know it you would have been all over them at 35:1 to win it all, and those odds were good last night. we all knew it, one big win happens all the time. a string of w's after that rarely happens. G.Mason, Nova 84', thats it

Completely agree, underdogs make for compelling stories and are fun the first couple of rounds but the further along the tournament goes the higher the likelihood they get blown out.

northern iowa thrived in the underdog role vs kansas (as i said PREGAME), but tonight they were expected by so many to win because mich st was a MASH unit, but still, no iowa could not get it done. they could not handle the pressure and the better overall players from the BIG school were too much to handle. as much of the credit goes to izzo as the blame goes to no iowa. 5 days worth of pats on the back made them too happy just to be there and it totally showed tonight. the moment was too big for them, even against a beaten up big-10 team who lost so many key guys from last yr's final gm run and then this yr w/the injuries last wknd

totally agree. those constant interviews, coaches new contract ect. they got way ahead of themselves. that coach looked completely shocked in the press conference after, i think he totally expected a nice 65-57 over a banged up MSU
