Having said that, UNI is better then CORNELL and KY is better then MSU.

If there are still 15k seats left, and the arena holds 66k, and fishhead said there's 25k uni fans....that means the fan base for each team is 50/50

Many fans in attendance will be locals and not a fan of either team.........and probably adding to the 25k+ UNI fan base cheering for UNI at the game because they will cheer for the cinderella team.

The basketball court is in the end zone. They are not using the entire stadium for seats.

It is set up like the Carrier Dome. There will be max 35k there. Probably closer to 25k.

Plus, don't they usually sell the tickets for the whole day? Meaning, fans of the earlier game will be there too, and like you said, most likely pull for the Cinderella team.

This surprises me. I had no idea 25,000 people lived in Iowa much less the northern part of it.

northern iowa i s a favorite in my book and has respect from all takers in the ncaa. northern iowa just plays with so much emotion and heart that u can actually feel it watchin the game. i hope they go 2 the final four. or even better yet the final. but if they win tonight they will have there hands full next round

Most in the state follow all four teams.......Iowa State, Iowa, Drake, and Northern
Iowa.

.....and St. Louis is a short 12-pack drive away.

in the times have i have factored in the hm crowd when making my NCAA tournament bracket picks, the hm crowd has helped only 30-40% of the time. at this pt in the tourney, no team (esp mich st whose roster made the final 4 and final gm last yr) really gets affected that much by a hostile crowd. ultimately, each team has to defend, rebound, and hit shots.

My family and friends are good judges of Iowa crowds, as they have attended many sporting events like this over the past 40 years involving Iowa schools(bowl games, tourneys in wrestiling and buckets, etc., etc)

They usually overshoot by about 20% because of alcohol..........so I expect 20,000 to be AT THE GAME.
