did you ask your girl's parents for their daughter's hand in marriage the old fashioned way? what did you say?
is this obsolete now in 2010 or still somewhat expected?

lmao pally, I already had half of that conversation....I am old fashioned when it comes to asking a father for his daughter's Coochie in bed for pre-marital relations...... its just the way I was raised I guess...
You can pass these onto Shanty in advance for his reply on this situation

Times have changed. Too many kids from single parent households, no daddy around, deadbeat dads, blended families. Not worth the hassle. If she says yes she will spread the word to the rest.

I already bought the ring and asked her and she said yes so when I asked her father later I would have been very pissed if he said no.

I think it matters..Unless you want to pay for the wedding from your own pocket and not have the old man chip in.

You're with some girl named Shabeequa from the projects, right?
Here's how you throw it down, son.
You don't tell the father. First you go to ass-to-mouth on your soon-to-be wife... just drillin' her real good. Then you tell her sister Bawanda that you go ass-to-mouth on Shabeequa. Pretty soon Bawanda will be jealous and you'll be going ass-to-mouth on Bawanda. Then you'll have a rivalry on your hands and both those SISTAS will come at you demanding marriage.
That's when you go ask the father, Mista Shaquille, which one you should marry.
Pretty simple, really.

nah, Beeq and I broke up 4 years ago, been with this girl for 3 years.... she hates SBR, gambling, and non-people as you can see..... she keeps me balanced
I suggest you not marry her. In any event, best of luck to you.

not neccesary but the show of respect will go a long way in the future for many reasons that will become readily known to you when it happens...

i did. my wife's folks are pretty old-fashioned and her dad really appreciated it. i took him to a private club for lunch so he couldn't pay. and i didn't have to say much - he could see it coming. he smiled really big and said, 'of course, on one condition: work on your golf game.' that move has paid big dividends for me over the years. also, carded my first legit eagle last summer.
and that hidden cam video is 5*.

it is a good thing to ask the parents, as long as the girl doesn't take it the wrong way that you think she was her dad's property to give away.
all depends on the girl these days and how she would react either way.
not sure why certain individuals here have to respond to a decent question with ridiculous obscenities, but i guess that's another sign o the times.

When I told my wife's parents that I was going to marry their
daughter...the first thing out of their mouths was " I could think of worse news "
...ahhh not to flattering....
The marriage lasted only 4 and a half years....the last 2 years, we were
swingers.....doing wife-swapping..that sort of thing...
yea..those were good times...

Yes, I asked her father first.
This was actually much more difficult than proposing, I was a wreck even though I knew he would give me the go ahead.
