Its still making money off other people doing the work. Its no different than you bitching about old people getting a check for not working.

Plus 1% of people owns 75% of stocks. Most wealth is inherited or the product of a great scam. Yes it is taxed at a lower % than wages.

I'm not envious of rich people. I just don't like people dying in the street while others hold on to billions.
If I invested in a company and they took the money to buy a truck and hire a driver, that person is profiting off of me too. If that truck driver is better able to serve the community, the community profits. That's completely different from taking money from one person and giving it to another so they don't work even though they can. Those people who sit home and receive a check are not working in the best interest of the common good. If you think investing doesn't involve work, I would invite you to invest in random companies and see what happens. If it is so easy to make money that way, why are democrats so against privatizing social security? Profit isn't bad, it's the reason for virtually every voluntary transaction, like you buying your device you use to type on this thread. The reason it was made was because you thought you're better off with the device than the money.

Again, short term capital gains is taxed as income. If you buy a house for 400k, and sell it 10 years later for 480k, you're telling me you want the 80k taxed as income?

Do you like 20,000 people a day around the world dying of starvation while we have stuff like cable TV and subscriptions to Hulu and Netflix? You're okay with those luxuries as long as you can afford it.
Yeah that's why the wealth divide is so great. Of all forms of taxs the middle class pays more than the rich & corporations. If there is no society to exploit, there are no rich people.

1% of people owns 75% of stocks. Most wealth is inherited or the product of a great scam
Let's see your proof for that. Amazing that the top 1% can own 75% of the stocks yet they don't pay the majority of capital gains taxes, that is paid by the middle class. If society didn't think those peoples' labor was worth that much those people wouldn't be rich.

I don't twist anything around. I do view the "poor" in America, people who probably have air conditioning, cable TV, the internet, smart phones, people who live better than kings did 200 years ago, differently than I view poor people in 3rd world countries, people who might starve to death by the time you read this.

I do care, which is why I endorse policies that will get people out of poverty. You endorse policies that have caused more misery, poverty, and death than any policy in human history.

I'm not forcing anyone to work. You're the one who wants to take 15% of a working poor person's income and give it to a mechanical engineer so he doesn't have to work anymore. That's super compassionate.

    DING DING DING

A lot of people complaining about how poor some people are in America have never been to 3rd world countries and seen ACTUAL poverty. Once you do, you'll come home and understand that some people might have had a head start in this country over others, but in the end, it was primarily choices that got us all where we are.

"It's your decisions, not your conditions that determine your destiny" - Tony Robbins

All of my charity money goes outside of the US, because that's where it's really needed. "People dying in the streets", FOH. You make it sound like it's because they're starving. In other countries, they're dying in the streets because they're actually starving and have no way out. American poverty by comparison is a absolute joke, and anyone who even mentions it with a straight face I'm just going to have to assume has never seen it anywhere else up close.

Go tell some impoverished kid in the DRC or even Brazil or Colombia what free services are available to homeless people in the US, and watch their jaws drop.

I heard this the other day, and i can't remember for the life of me where. I can only paraphrase, since I don't remember it word for word.

    - You hear all the time "Don't hate the player, hate the game". That's not right either. Don't "hate the game", love the game, because that's the game you're in, the game we're all in like it or not. And in America, that game has good and bad parts to it, so take the good ones, triple-down on that shit, and make the most of your situation.

You know what the opposite of that is? Sitting around and whining about it. Because unless you're as funny (and ambitious) as a Lewis Black or a John Oliver, and you're not, whining is going to accomplish nothing and get you absolutely nowhere. And I have some bad news for you -- it already has.

What we created is a nanny state. One weakness of a democracy is that politicians tell people we are going to give you free food, free health care, free college, free child care and a little pocket money. They say we will take it from the rich and companies and give it to the poor.

Some are just honestly too dumb to realize that will sink the country. Others know it will but do not care.

Good hard working Americans want the American dream not handouts and class warfare. In a couple of weeks a million 18 year olds will graduate high school. The government is to blame for them having no good jobs to go to. They have the American nightmare. The Dems are resigned that good jobs are not possible because of a list of excuses including technology and lower costs abroad.

Now days it's solely up to Republicans to revive the American dream. It may take one more election but we are close.

Read the last words stupid fuk.

The definition has nothing to do with what you described in your above post.

Racism is about power, privilege, & favored outcomes to those that set the cultural norms & control the economic system. America is mostly white & controlled by whites.

Well, to try to answer this question, let’s visit the actual (not Webster Dictionary) definition of USA racism, which, for some reason, is greatly mis-understood by a significant number of white people in the USA who have expressed that they were a recipient of racism from a Black or Brown person. They use the word ‘racism’ when actually they are describing a situation in which the Black or Brown person was expressing something, or doing something differently. If we look deeper within USA’s white supremacist racial caste system, where racism here was born out of and continues, these actions are not actually racism (but another form of prejudice not connected to systemic power + privilege).

    http://www.sistahvegan.com/2013/06/01/can-black-people-be-racist-towards-white-people/
It is not surprising that you post something that proves my point and totally discredits your lunacy. The words prejudice and discrimination are right in the definition. Many black people think they are superior to other races. If they have an opportunity to use that to deny someone advancement or services that inhibit people from their life pursuits, that is LITERALLY THE DEFINITION OF RACISM. This is hilarious. A fuccinn 2 yr old isn't this stupid. You do notice all your butt buddies aren't backing you up here. That's because they can't believe anybody could be this stupid. That's what the mod told you in a nice way. Keep embarrassing yourself.
I love how you use some made up fictional left wing nutjob definition that only you think is real.
I encourage everyone to visit the sistahvegan website. Words cannot begin to describe the insanity of the website. Vegan chicks telling chicks like knicks about socital issues from the bat shit crazy viewpoint. They don't have the qualifications to comment on anything much less creating new fake definitions of words. The fact that knicks qouted this website is further proof of mental illness and being a woman.

guitarjosh the point khicks is trying to make is that we don't live
in the 1800s anymore. stop using the old, antiquated ideals to justify
the disparity of control and wealth which exists on this planet now.

just because you're getting a little tiny sliver of satisfaction from
the system doesn't mean the system is fair or just.

you need to open your heart and mind to the truth and stop
believing in the false promises of the trickle-down thieves and liars.

Yeah. Back when I was in Tech (high school) school, they did job placement assistance. They took me to some
hippy place. They were silkscreening flowers on VW hub caps. That was the thing back in the 70's. I said thanks,
    but no thanks.

There's a huge shortage of auto mechanics, but kids don't want to get their hands dirty. Friend of mine who's

The 1800s is the greatest period of growth in American history and the time we were known around the world as the land of opportunity. Millions of people, and I bet some of your ancestors are included in that number, willing moved here to enjoy the highest standard of living ever created for the average person up to that time in human history.

You agree with trickle down, we agree that business is going to other countries to take advantage of the lower costs, all trickle down says is let's undercut them by cutting regulation and taxes and jobs will move back.

Those days are long gone, and none of the conditions nor even the government which existed then
are in charge anymore. The frontier is gone. The freedoms are gone and in place of work and freehold,
settlement land, you have no land to speak of and no growth without massive inflation.
There is absolutely nothing special about current American principles, they are common around the world,
so is your standard of living. Once the frontier was gone, opportunity was gone, and then it took the
efforts of organized labor to reign in the financial despots. That's American history, bro.

We could replicate that success if we returned to those policies, places around the world that have adopted those policies have seen a greater standard of living increase than we have in the past 50 years. People weren't moving to America for frontier land but to work in factories because the pay was so high.

Agree with all of it. Once the American people as a whole stop letting the other side tear at their heart-strings and stop being afraid to say "Okay, seriously, F those people if they can't make it", then we'll get back to prominence at a time when back then, it was pure animal kingdom and those who didn't make it died off, and the ones that did built the modern world.

I love SJWs because they're speeding up this very process and they don't even realize it.

Today millions of hard working Americans just want their government to level the field and create a land of opportunity.

The irony is there are millions like the libs in this thread that have no interest in reviving the American dream. Right chico? Their idea of a level field is stripping the assets from those who have them and giving them to those too lazy to give it their best.

If the Nazi's were the only group in Germany at the time that didn't like Jews. They would be bigots, not racist. But that was not the case, many Germans hates Jews that were not Nazi's. Which also made it easier for the Nazi's to turn the German people against the Jews, once they gained power.

Again voting has nothing to do with it.

How much of the driving of that truck did you do? Its still making money from others doing the work. Free Rent & a Free Ride. Just like people who are retired collecting SS. Their own money that they put into it. The same people who just because that didn't invest like you, deserve to work until they are dead. So you seem to think.

Maybe the question should be, if 52 people didn't have the same wealth as the bottom 3.5 billion. Would 20000 people die of starvation everyday. But I'm the one living the life because I have cable. Give me a fuking break.

For those in the 25 to 35% tax brackets, the capital gains tax is 15%. For the wealthiest citizens who fall into the 39.6% income tax bracket, the capital gains rate is still only 20%. Assume that, in the example above, your $5,000 in investment income is from long-term investments held longer than a year.Oct 15, 2015

Here, you could just look it up yourself.

I sure the source will not meet the Josh standard.

47% of all American own any stock at all — with an emphasis on “any.” Coincidentally, that is the very same number cited by 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney as the percentage of Americans who pay no income tax. That fewer than half of U.S. households own any stock at all shows that the ambition of the Reagan and Clinton administrations to turn Americans into a nation of shareholders has fallen significantly short of the goal.
In addition, nearly 44% of Americans lack a financial safety net, defined as not having enough savings or other liquid assets to stay out of poverty for more than three months if they lose their income, according to the Corporation for Enterprise Development. And one-third of all Americans do not have any savings at all.

These numbers, along with a trend (which picked up speed in the 1980s) from employer-funded pensions to self-funded retirement plans such as 401(k) plans and IRAs, make plain that more than half of the country’s population is entirely dependent on Social Security for their retirement.

The wealthiest 10% of all Americans own 81% of all shares of stock owned by U.S. households (as of 2010). This underscores just how concentrated financial wealth is in the United States.
Stock ownership falls precipitously after this top strata. The bottom 90% of U.S. households own 19% of the stock traded on U.S. markets — and the bottom 80% own less than half of that (8.4%). The bottom 60% of U.S. households own a mere 2.5% of outstanding shares.
