Russell Crowe Bans Gambling From His Club
Yet another reason for men to hate Russell Crowe

Crowe Bans Gambling From His Club

Russell Crowe is leading a campaign to discourage Australians from gambling -- by banning poker machines from his sports club.

The actor has already axed the cheerleading squad from his South Sydney Rabbitohs rugby league club in a bid to make it more female friendly -- and now he is attempting social reform by scrapping the club's $6 million gambling income.

His co-owner Peter Homes a Court says, "Russell threw down the gauntlet and said 'Can we do this?' It's been proven beyond reasonable doubt that poker machines cause damage in the community and Russell said we've got to find a new business model."

Crowe is hoping to find new sponsors for the club, to replace the money the 160 machines brought in.

I wonder how he would feel about the close-range throwing of phones at innocent subservient people at his club.

You guys don't have a clue about the leagues clubs in Australia. He's not legislating against these poker machines (pokies as they are called there) but rather saying he doesn't want his club funded by degenerate gambling which basically ruins the lives of the lower class Australians who sit in front of these screens mindlessly blowing their latest paycheck. Sure, it's their right to gamble and their choice, but Russell is simply saying he doesn't want his team funded by that, which also happens to be his choice. Good for him.

Yup, I second that. He isn't putting 'dirty' money in his pockets. Good man. Fvck all the haters, he's still a great actor.
