    the long run
    Hi guys,
I'm new here, started betting sports a week ago or so. I'd like to how many bets are considered the "long run" in sports betting. Or how many games do you need to gamble on so that your results are considered "non-bias"?
I'm from a poker background and for cash games for example, 100000 hands played or more can be considered the long run.
Any other advice appreciated has well.

    Thanks

Just track your bets and when you get to 100, you have a good starting sample size of how well you are doing. Obviously the larger sample size the better, but I think 100 plays total at 1 to 2 plays daily is a pretty good starting point. This is of course using all juice lower than the standard (-110).

Wow, yes far too many plays per day, you never want to set an exact number per day because you do not know how much value will be on that day's card, might be 3 plays might be 0, but I always try to keep it under 3 plays daily so I come out with about 15 to 20 plays for the entire week. The more games you play per day, the more advantage you are giving the book. I was like you when I first started out and was playing every game on the board, but I would lower the number of plays immediately if you want to have any chance of winning weekly.

Thanks for the advice! I'll lower my action starting friday. I Keep my fingers cross for today... The funny thing is that i don't know much about basketball, my decisions are entirely based on what i read on this form. So far so good!

                  Or a risk diversification junkie

Seriously, an action junkie for sure...I'll fix that starting on friday.

This leads me to another question, what percentage of the sports bettors beat the game? between 1 and 5%, 5 and 10% ?

                  Cheers

Not a clue and never really cared to find out, I just worry about myself and my numbers. I break it down into 10 game segments where I try to at a bare minimum to go 6-4 in every 10 game stretch, anything better than that, 7-3, 8-2, 9-1, and 10-0 is just added profits.

I usually only wager 1 game a day if that.

I might go crazy and wager on 2 if I get the urge.

If you're betting 50 games in 4 days you'll never make it bro. Slow down & look for value
