You know, recently I've been reflecting on this one game played by Illinois years ago.... the lead was 25 to 30 pts and I had over 20 pts to spare for my 2half under w/ less than 2:00 to go. In such a situation you're usually fine with 9 to spare or more. You'll get it the majority of the time.

But in this game... man, I haven't seen anything like this SINCE THAT GAME. They went on a fouling attack and all-out offense attack. I mean, there was no purpose to any of it.... but they kept fouling, chucking 3's, driving to the bucket like madmen... and it went over. It was truly amazing. Still have not seen anything like it in a while. It was just weird... given the ridiculous situation.

Btw, I've grown accustomed to that 'late foul' BS... it will be or it won't be. However, what still gets me now are these shots from half-court or more at the buzzer.... mostly at the end of 1h's.

That is a fukin insane beat, its like college coaches think the opponents might screw up and shoot the FTs in the wrong basket or somethin idk what they're thinkin sometimes, I got lucky on a Miss St over a couple months ago when they were down double digits in the last minute and just fukin refused to end the game, they went into prison ball full court press foulin every 2 secs then flyin down the court and I lucked out and won that over, naturally they still lost by double digits.

In NBA normally the guys realize hey if were down 2 poss with 3 secs left its a waste of time to foul, in college they woulda just tackled the guy and hope he chokes the FTs and somehow they bury a 3 and get fouled, some kinda act of god scenario, but what I didnt understand was if you're going to foul why have 3 players that could foul him just let him dribble off 6 secs, if you really think theres a chance of a comeback foul instantly and preserve the clock, he rebounds at 9 and dribbles through 3 Portland players slowly to the corner and Im like cash that shit then this moron at half court decides to run over and fingertip foul him, I mean hell let the fukin fans who took your shitbag team + the points win at least since the game is fukin over, instead of foulin with 3 secs left down 4 then trottin 2 steps after he makes both FTs and heavin a 70 footer at the buzzer to try to lose by 3

You know what amazes me in this tourney.... is how quickly teams give up.

They need to run the video of the SDSU game when they were down by 10 pts w/ about 19 secs left and ended up winning the game.

You can generate 3 plays in 5 seconds... or a 6 pt swing. Down by 9 w/ 20 seconds.. you nail a 3 ball. Steal the inbounds, hit a 3 ball... now you're down by 3 w/ 15 seconds left. Then you have a 3-pt game w/ 15 seconds and anything can happen.

These coaches make 400K a year and they don't prep these guys for that. I always look for this in games. I could go to youtube and pull about 10 games where teams properly execute this and manage their time... and then I can reflect back to the tourney these past four days.... and some teams simply just lay down dead.

I cant believe the ref even called it, I mean this was like a fingertip foul in a pointless situation where 3 guys had already passed on the opportunity to foul and with 3 secs left this monkey swings in from half court like hes saving the game and then just fingertip fouls him I guess he suddenly realized the situation and that he was the only guy interested in fouling and was havin second thoughts so he didnt take a swipe at him like normal

In response to MilfDriller's post you're right in college ball big swings are possible bc of stupid mistakes by inexperienced players especially when a bad team is upsetting a better team, like the inbounds turnover and layup that cost Miss St the SEC championship and a tourney invite. NBA teams on the other hand simply shoot too well from the line and with 3 secs left and down 2 poss it really is basically impossible to win if you foul, they will either make one or both and either way you will then just see the guy trot a couple steps after the inbounds and put up a 60 footer as the buzzer goes off, the main point in this game was if you think u can make a comeback then dont stand there while the guy dribbles out the clock then have a guy at midcourt run in right before the buzzer and fingertip foul, it was just fukin retarded but standard for my bets
