I grew up with guys that shot people and run the drug trade. 2 of my closest 5 friends from high school are doing life in state prison for murder and double murder. A third died from a short range 30 ought 6 gunshot wound to the neck. They were my best friends. I guess it just doesn't impress me as much when I grew up around the same type of stuff.

Not italian mafia, down here its white, mixed, blacks, mexicans, cubans mixed, haitians, dominicans, jamaicans. A lot of mixing of races down here.

I dont know how anyone could "hate" the Sopranos ... Yeah for me its more the set of principles that they live by. There old school morals and self governing ways. How sharp and on top of things they are. The loyalty and trust, and in some cases lack there of, but the game they play and the chess moves they make are fascinating.

that makes sense. I couldnt stand Entourage as i lived in los angeles back in the day and sad to say, many of the aspiring actors act that way.

You know something just hit me. The main reason I didn't watch the Sopranos and don't watch many gangster movies now is because by the time Sopranos came out, I had seen like 50 mafia movies, so I was like what is new about this? Why do I want to spend time watching a TV show that I've seen played out in movies over and over again? This is probably the main reason, it gets old.

I use to like the gangster movies but after a while I started looking to watch original movies and TV shows. Stuff like Mothman Prophecies, original content. Stuff you don't see everyday. That is the main reason I just got tired of mafia movies. Flash Forward is a cool ass TV show, 100 times better than Sopranos.

T, just gave this a watch ... Great ****ing find, loved it ... I would rank this pretty high among gangster movies ... i actually looked it up and it turns out its not really a movie though, it was a actually a 2 part TV miniseries, but regardless great stuff.
