#5The first explanation for Morrison's fall is that he was simply over-hyped in college. Another reason for Morrison's professional failures is the GU system itself. Gonzaga runs a very high tempo offense and Morrison hasn't been able to adapt himself to the pro offense of the NBA. Morrison also seems to lack the intensity and physicality that it takes to be successful in the NBA.
Morrison has not as of yet been able to consistently get himself open and find decent shots. But he doesn't afford himself the opportunity to improve on the offensive end of the court because his liability as a defender makes him practically unplayable.
Still, Morrison is a young player and now that the expectations for his career have gone from impossibly high to reasonably low, maybe there's something there that can still be salvaged.
Given the right opportunity in the right system, maybe Morrison can find the form that once made him one of the most exciting players in college basketball.Comment -

#29Amazing how guys dominate in college then dissapear after that
I've watched a lot of college basketball over the years and can't even begin to name all the great players who never made a dent in the NBA.
Just thinking back to the 2005 Illinois team, Luther Head is now MIA, Dee Brown never did anything, Deron Williams is a stud, but the rest all fizzled out, James Augustine, Brian Cook before him, all gone. Hope they didn't spend all their money! How about that years Arizona team, Salim Stoudamire, Channing fry (he is playing), Hassan Adams....Where do these players evaporate to?Comment -

#34The draft especially in the NFL and NBA has a way of drafting measurables versus performance of late. The NBA draft was unwatchable for a while when high schoolers were being drafted ahead of seasoned household names from the college ranks. The day Kwame Brown went number 1 was the day I stopped watching with extreme interest. The NBA has somewhat corrected this. The NFL has had its moments. I remember the year Desmond Howard was a household name all season, and some big lug from UDub went number 1. I can name a few players who made names for themselves nationally yet couldn't build on it. God Shamgod, Fennis Dembo, Louis Bullock, Chris Carawell, Mateen Cleeves, and so many others.Originally posted by Brock LandersAmazing how guys dominate in college then dissapear after that
